Faaaaaaaar too early to predict. Adkins will no doubt clear a lot of deadwood and bring in his own players and system. It may take a couple of seasons.

My expectations of next season is to see good passing football and I can see Le Fondre scoring 20+. Playoffs at least

I'd love a promotion via Wembley and that is my expectation

I expect the play-offs as a minimum. I expect Anton will want more than that, but it will all come down to how much he gives the manager this summer! We need several new players. They will cost if we want to get quality in.

I'd like to think we'll be in and around the play-off spots for most of the season, probably culminating in a battle for 6th.

Expectations will be too high, and so criticism will be widespread and unrealistic whenever things don't go exactly according to plan.

So no change there, then .....

We will see what happens in the summer, but Adkins appointment has been made with promotion next season in mind.

My view is regardless of what any Reading thinks of Adkins, the media and many other fans believed he had the power in his hands. Based on his record he had the pick of any championship club he wanted and if he waited long enough a potential PL club in the summer.

On the assumption that Adkins did have a lot of pull, we needed a USP in order for us to attract him, so we must of tempted him with some sort of budget. And unless he's deluded he must of known our squad was very weak and would need a rebuild. He would not have taken on this challenge without a budget.

..so was the appointment of Rodgers, but with players incapable of playing technical passing football it was doomed from the start.
I believe we are repeating that mistake, unless we literally replace the squad.

Then again you've never actually watched this squad live have you?

Nonsense. Rodgers came here on the back of a decent but very short spell at Watford, but we weren't expecting promotion. Perhaps to be in the hunt for the play-offs, but we certainly weren't expectant of going up!

AZ has already said he would want an immediate return next season, so now he needs to match that with money. He's got the manager, he has half a decent side, but he needs to buy some decent players to give us a chance.

I don't think the championship has been that strong this year with all sides much of a muchness - someone could go down with around 55 points which is very unusual. There isn't that much money around either.

If Adkins is given money to spend I would expect us to be top 6.

I think that we're going to find the Championship tough in our first season back and will finish a couple of places outside of the playoffs. I also believe that there'll be some pretty big changes in the squad and as a consequence I think Nige' will need a whole season before things begin to click into place.....

Wouldn't it be just as suitable to say that in fact most teams in the championship are pretty good sides so the points have been distributed fairly equally, and the level of competitiveness is fierce, making it even harder to succeed?

Expect to finish in the top 6 along with the 2 teams that come down with us. The standard in the Championship this season is absolute pants . Are there really any players from Cardiff ,Hull or Watford (excluding their Udinese mercenaries) you would love to see here.

.... a half empty stadium
A rowsing reception for Brian
Excitement when one of the "big" teams - Bolton, Blackburn, Leeds - roll into town
Still having to wear blue shorts cos QPR will still be with us
Not being bothered to go and use my season tickets when Blackpool, Barnsley, Doncaster, Yeovil roll into town
Getting excited about drawing one of the Big 4 in the FA Cup
Not having to worry about deleting MOTD from Sky+
Adkins being sacked before Xmas for an "indifferent start to the season"
Shorter beer queue at half time
SHunt & Doyle to play and score blinders against us (but not celebrate)
Signing Southampton reserves
Carrico playing in the League Cup games
Kebe to still be continuously "injured"
McAnuff to still be captain
Madejski to win me my dead pool
Katsia to never grace the MadStad again.
Steve Sidwell on loan
Bournemouth to beat us at home
Samuel to prove that he is no better than Church
Cork City to cut feeder ties with us.
