Ark Royal I would imagine that all of the Europeans would hope to avoid Ivory Coast or Ghana. There is going to be at least one Group of Death.
Reckon Argentina will get it

papereyesSilver Foxpapereyes One European team will be dogpoo.
England? Let's be honest where they get seeded is irrelevant, they'll win their group, roll past a last 16 tie and then fail miserably against France, Brazil, Argentina or Portugal in the quarters
Oh I mean, Greece '94 or SerbiaMontengro '06 dogpoo. France '02 perhaps? Beaten by some plucky Africans, draw against a decent team then implode against some under-rated scandinavians.
And yes, that's exactly my prediction for England. Beaten by the first decent side they play in a game that matters. Someone will get sent off to add injustice for the 'can't quite wipe the drool from my mouth' brigade.

Would in not be easier just to get one method, let everyone agree on that and use it every year.

hiro Has anyone here bought a ticket of World Cup 2010 yet?
It is troublesome that the ticket can be given only at stadium for people traveling from abroad, but I took a chance as I have already purchased game number 39 "D4 VS D1".
If Paultheroyal's pot selection is right, I dream of Japan VS England which is a chance of one in 64!

soggy biscuit Why does there always HAVE to be a 'group of death'?

Either way, the last two world cups are taken into account, and a win and a final should see France seeded.

Either way, the last two world cups are taken into account, and a win and a final should see France seeded.
2002: Winners - Brazil, Runners-up - Germany, 3rd place - Turkey, 4th place - South Korea
2006: Winners - Italy, Runners-up - France, 3rd place - Germany, 4th place - Portugal.
A win? 2002, do you forget that pre-tournament favourites and trophy holders France were knocked out of the tournement at the Group stage, without scoring a goal, in a group containing Senegal (0-1), Uruguay (0-0), and Denmark (0-2).
Spacey's just come in his pants
