They are compared to the massive fees that the established/big Premiership clubs tend to pay out.

Behindu 'Defoe was robbed by Wiley's wonky application of the stupid rule about interfering with play, but he should have buried a yawning chance to polish off plucky Reading four minutes from the end.'

What on earth does that mean ?

Is sticking the ball in the back of the net not considered interfering with play in LaLa Mirrorland ?


Defoe was onside when he received the ball, so (unless the lino simply made a mistake) it was ruled out because Berbatov was stood offside.

Defoe was onside when he received the ball, so (unless the lino simply made a mistake) it was ruled out because Berbatov was stood offside.
He wasn't simply standing - he made a definate movement towards the ball and goal. IMHO the linesman made the correct decision.

I was not referring to the big fees these players cost - I was referring to the fact that they came from clubs who were reluctant to sell these players to us. Hardly car boot sales.

They sold them because they needed the money for something else - sounds quite like a lot of car boot sellers to me!
