Clyde1998 The England squad announcements are tomorrow: https://www.englandfootball.com/article ... s-20250311

Would be a bit surprised if Garcia is in the U19 squad, but remains a possibility.

Garcia isn't in the squad: https://www.englandfootball.com/article ... s-20250711

windermereROYAL Wigan game off.

With this and no FA Cup 2nd round game, Richardson has plenty of time early doors to implement his ideas and get some players working on their fitness.

Club confirm game called off due to our international call ups, so assume Tuma called up for Malta.

New Chronicle guy saying game called off due to call ups for MOM & Tuma.... you can't call a game off for 2 call ups....not a great start....

Yeah, not liking him so far, full of mistakes and just seems to parrot what the club tweet out, I'm already following the club, I don't need an echo.

Hopefully he'll improve.

2 games between now and December 9th, plenty of time to get some fitness where it should be, no idea if they've been over worked or under worked

Perfect, as you say good amount of time for the team to get some fitness and resilience.

Also, off the back of a good win yesterday, LEAM can spend time with the players, to get to know them and work with them to implement his ideas and strategies.

So, if the Wigan game has been called off due to Reading players international call ups, which are the 3 players called up? Got Tuma and Camara but who is the third? Does Savage have a ticket for the Wales game?

In theory the break is a good thing.
In practice IIRC we haven't been great after a number of the international breaks and the question "what have they been doing for 2 weeks?" was often asked.

Different circumstances though because of the new management appointment so we can hope.

Once again though it is f*** the fans as the game will probably now get a Tuesday night re-scheduling with Wigan still being in the FA Cup.
As Sutekh often posts, F*** international breaks.

As a matter of interest how many times have we actually played during the international break since we got relegated? the last one was Exeter away.
I can`t remember any others, why always us?

IIRC, it was only that one. We've had a number of youth internationals and/or players from smaller footballing nations in the squad.

It's the youth internationals people seem to forget about being able to trigger postponements.

Yep - we've actually got 4 off this time as Borgnis has been called up by New Zealand U17's.

They really need to introduce some criteria for a player on international duty to qualify for a game being called off.

It's ludicrous it can happen because a bunch of Unders with no prospect of playing in the League anyway are away on International duty.

Something like the Trophy qualifying rules... have to have 40 professional starts, be in top 10 starters for league games at the club this season, or started the last league game to count towards the number needed for moving a match.

5 league one games off on Saturday, maybe the international break should apply to the top three leagues in future, everyone knows where they stand then, especially if wanting to buy tickets

Agree - at least half the scheduled games are usually called off.

Also agree there should be rules around what counts as a "squad call up" as this time only really O'Mahoney has been involved regularly this season and even then he's largely been a sub recently.

I do think they need to update the ruling, feels like we took the piss a bit with this postponement, think it should be based on minutes played by players called up. We're of course not alone in taking advantage of the 3 player rule.
