South Coast Royal Sutekh Slot has to go now surely, proven to be utterly clueless.
Since the start of 2025 he’s taken Liverpool from a class outfit to looking like a team without fight, without accountability and without any form of plan. He moans about teams playing a “low block” and being a bit basic like it was illegal, he sticks with under performing players, throws 16 year olds into the mix when backs are against the wall and ******* off for a holibob to Dubai in the middle of it all.
If they can’t line up Klopp to return on a temporary basis while searching for a replacement over the next 6 months then Liverpool could do a lot worse than look at Iraola or Glasner.
He isn’t being helped by the overpaid millionaires in the squad of course, think VVD and Konate just are not up to it any more and Salah has totally vanished, meanwhile Kerkez has failed to even vaguely look like he might fit in and there is no idea how to play Wirtz.
But then this clueless season only cost £0.5billion or so
If Arsenal don’t get the title this season then they never will.
I am assuming that this post was slightly tongue-in-cheek with the net spend being nowhere near that figure..
There was nothing the club could do about losing top players in Diaz and Trent and then of course poor Diogo.
Unfortunately so far the 2 full-backs signed haven't come up to expectations.
I don't think Macca is fit and Curtis Jones isn't strong in midfield-he makes the very occasional telling pass but otherwise it is too much of square or back.
I think the manager is trying to get build-up play and final ball to include Salah less than in the past and the new boys are taking a while to get used to playing together.
There has not been a thrashing by anybody and all the losses have been by the odd goal.
Disappointing at the moment for the fans but (as other clubs have found out) there is no divine right to success and players will just have to work harder.
BTW , what a shame that Salah's superb goal meant nothing in the end.
I accept that there will be a period of "bedding in" with players and that the £0.5b outlay is somewhat reduced by the prudent sales of players but my point remains is that the manager is really not looking up to the job.
The defensive side of the team is shot to pieces. It was weak last season after Matip retired and was not replaced but now it's just a complete abomination with Konate doing his best to get interested parties to drop any interest in him and van Dijk really not looking quite the player he was (defending is sloppy, careless with too much seeming reliance on "crafty" pushing of opposition players and not quite the well timed tackle any longer) and this is being partnered with 2 new full backs who aren't actually full backs but wing backs. Slot just hasn't worked out whether he wants wing backs in the team or not, you get Kerkez wandering about the pitch like the proverbial chickenless head and having to be reined in more often than not before he either gets sent off or goes completely AWOL while on the other side you've got Frimpong who has pace to burn yet he seems caught between two stools unclear what exactly is expected of him. Szboszlai has been the best right back they've had which is plainly stupid given the amount of money spent. This may have been alleviated a little by the big Italian who unluckily did his ACL as soon as he arrived but I'm not convinced he would have got a game under Slot in the PL given some of his bizarre team selections.
Then you've got Wirtz still trying to find his feet because it seems there's no real system to Liverpool. They don't really press any more and the plan seems to be to just get the ball and try to hold onto it with as much pointless Stamlike backward & sideways go nowhere passing as possible, consequently opposition has all the time in the world to regroup which is utterly pointless against side like Brentford who are very well organised.
Gakpo and Salah spend too much time predictably cutting inside or checking back all the time and this is then compounded by the likes of Chiesa, who is in form and looks a real handful, being largely ignored. Finally up top they've brought in Isak but haven't a clue how best to make use of him. Therefore there either needs to be some sort of managerial changes or there's going to have to be another couple of very active and expensive windows to negotiate.
