I guess it's fairly normal to recruit people you've worked with before if you think they did a good job back then. However, the risk of doing that too much is that you miss out on new blood and fresh ideas. Furthermore, I would suggest that Reading and Wycombe are very different clubs/businesses, so what worked for Wycombe might not necessarily work at Reading.

Had the pleasure of chatting with Mike and Grace Kearney yesterday. They were watching their grandson playing for Yate Town.
Mike was a hard as nails Glaswegian forward who played 150+ games for us in the late 70’s/ early 80’s.. He and Grace then ran the Royals Rendezvous and did various back of house jobs at the club. Mike still does a bit of driving for the Academy teams meaning they have nearly 50 years association with us.

It was. Early career in the printing industry as a Production Manager in the newspaper printing industry. Then, surprise, surprise into advertising , commercial, sales & business development! Brief (4 yr) spell in a management role at East Berks College.

I reckon he must have been getting a nosebleed being that far from home territory when he went to Newcastle Racecourse!

I hope he avoids any temptation to overly assist in Tim Kilpatrick's role.
