The first televised Saturday lunch time home game of Reading’s fixtures this season, just as this fixture was last season.
Already deep in the relegation mire, Reading's struggle could be assuaged somewhat by collecting 3 points from one of the favourites for automatic promotion but it will be a hard difficult battle against a side yet to concede a goal let alone drop a point.
The Terriers have basically tried to dispense with their team from last year with 7 players exiting and, so far, 12 players incoming, including Alfie May from Charlton and 3 loans from the premier league (Josh Feeney, Leo Castledine and Owen Goodman).
The opening day saw Lee Grant's men easily demolish Leyton Orient 3-0 to push them to the top of the table and get their promotion charge off to a belter so, hopefully, they'll underestimate a Reading team struggling to offer any real threat, therefore it's up to Noel to get the players back into the "up against it" mentality that seemed to serve them well for most of last season.
O'Connor is rated as only 50-50 for the game and Tuma is out for 8 weeks, believe otherwise it's a fairly full strength squad and hopefully Doyle and Lane will be granted starts rather than being assigned bench duty (but then bench duty would mean something to lift the crowd in the 2nd half, especially against what should be tiring opposition).

Historically
The first time Reading played Huddersfield was at Elm Park in October 1975, since then then there have been another 26 home league games and, overall, Reading have the edge by 14 wins to 5 and have scored 44 to the Terrier’s 30. Recently though it’s been pretty poor for Reading with just 3 wins from the last 9 home league games.
