Ascotexgunner Grrr Abbey last season, Bindon this season......I had shirts printed with their names. Abbey start of last season, Bindon at the start of this. I'm a jinx.....What a defence we would have as well.

Can you please purchase a shirt with "Dai Yongge" on the back!!!! Maybe your jinx will see the back of him :D :D :D :D :D

Great idea! Would probably be unwise to wear it though!

This all seems refreshingly quiet on the rumours front, for everyone not just Bindon, as we get ever closer to the window opening.

With everyone you'd expect still in the matchday squad rather than mysteriously unavailable.

Then again we should get a general update from the club soon. Yay.

The ever reliable Darren Witcoop on Twitter -

Norwich and Blackburn among scouts watching Reading’s Tyler Bindon on Boxing Day. The teenage Kiwi defender is expected to move on in January with a number of clubs keen on striking a deal with the Royals to sign Bindon

So the only thing we know for sure is that he won't be going to Norwich or Blackburn.

loved it when this thread went off piste and started talking about favourite shirts. I live in NZ and have tried wearing my (last seasons) shirt to bed when Reading play, with the theory that it might help. My wife disapproves but I persisted long enough to discover that it made no difference. Just saying...

Best we can hope for is a decent wedge up front and a loan back for the rest of the season.

I’d want a 50% sell on clause and an option to buy back at the price we sell him for. Plus 4 players in exchange (our choice) and any points deductions we suffer to be offset by the buying club lending us points. I’d also like a clause where they fund an assassin to travel to China and remove our main problem, but not sure the EFL would approve that.

Well I was touching my head every time Northampton got near our goal on Thursday and, er, they only scored once. Tbh we were already 3-0 up by then and I think I had relaxed and forgot that time.

How many days into January can we get before he’s sold off. I’ll go for 12.

Some Twitter idiots saying his deal to Blackburn is already done. Presumably were it true, he would not have played today.

Can't see anything about that. Do Blackburn even have any money to spend?

Probably saw the reports that they had a scout at the boxing day game and then making up stories. that`s how rwitter works.

They seem to have spent roughly £3m this season.

So some.

The short answer is no they haven't, and even post the Szmodics sale to Ipswich its still been reported they have severe financial issues.

Lost £23m in last set of financials with debt up to £140m so depending on previous years they could be in danger of FFP breach.

I'm resigned to him leaving, but I only hope it's worthwhile for him. You look at Omar Richards and Nelson Abbey so far, and you just think "what a waste". I want to see Bindon showing everyone what he can do at a higher level, not wasting in U21s of a massive club.

Abbey needed another year at least here. But Dai and his actions made it a necessity for Abbey to leave.

His career post Reading currently is looking like it's yet another victim of our esteemed owner.

I just wonder why Nelson Abbey would be had he even completed the season here and playing regularly, let alone still being here. I hope Olympiacos recall him from Swansea in January and send him somewhere where he'll get match time.

The best thing for Bindon might be a move to a Premier League club with him being loaned back for the season, where we can basically guarantee he'll be playing regularly.

He'd have been doing a lot better. He'd have been playing senior football for a season and half by now, making his mistakes, and learning from them.

Olympiakos definitely need to do something because right now you can't see him doing much other than being stuck in a loan cycle, sat on the bench away from his parent club, until his contract there runs out and he becomes a free agent.
