NathStPaul Exciting draw for Bracknell though. Shame it wasn't a home draw though.

Have to work on their performances/results in the first round though. Made it 3 times in their history and are still waiting to score a goal. Sadly can't see it improving at the Abbey Stadium but then it is the cup.....

It being the cup has surely been part of the problem?

A bit of a dull draw but I’ll be away working in Chesterfield that weekend, hence I was hoping we’d draw them. I’ll now be able to watch them play Pompey instead which should be a cracking game/atmosphere.

At least we have the chance to do the franchise scum. Hate that club. Tickets should be £10 max if they want more than 6k fans going

Why do you hate them? You are jealous of their success?

Some success, but not massively impressive

League One Runners-up: 2014–15
League Two Champions: 2007–08
Promoted: 2018–19
Football League Trophy Winners: 2007–08
Not to mention Berks & Bucks Senior Cup

The "history" has been handed back to Wimbledon, wonder how spicey Wimbledon v Franchise games are?

Away at Lincoln, and home to Ipswich were always going to be tough games.

Not having scored in their third outing isn't surprising, given that the game hasn't been played yet. They really would have wanted a (comparatively) big club, or a club playing badly. Reading would have been ideal.

MK Dons have immediately reacted to the disappointment of drawing us in the 1st Round of the Cup by sacking their Manager.

Interesting* fact.

This season could be the first time since 1982-83 that we are not the last standing club from Berkshire in the FA Cup.

That year we were knocked out in Round 1, whilst Slough made it to Round 2.

For the last 20 odd years of course, we have "won" that prize before we even enter the competition.

Was there that day and recall there being at least one tannoy announcement asking Reading fans to stop jumping up and down behind the goal as it was damaging the terracing. Then the wall collapsed.

Royals and Racers Managerless MK Dons now as Graham Alexander sacked this morning.

Didn’t take long for them to appoint Gateshead manager Mike Williamson.

No major surprise but won't be on TV;

The BBC and ITV have made their live broadcast selections for the 2023-24 Emirates FA Cup first round proper, and the details can be seen below.

FRIDAY 3 NOVEMBER 2023
• Sheppey United v Walsall at 7.45pm GMT on ITV4 and ITVX

SATURDAY 4 NOVEMBER 2023
• Bromley v Blackpool at 5.45pm GMT on BBC Two, BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport

SUNDAY 5 NOVEMBER 2023
• Chesterfield v Portsmouth at 12.15pm GMT on ITV1, UTV, STV and ITVX
• Crewe Alexandra v Derby County at 2.45pm GMT on ITVX
• Charlton Athletic v Cray Valley (PM) at 5.30pm GMT on BBC Two, BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport

Each of the clubs involved in these ties will receive a live broadcast fee in addition to any payments from the competition’s prize fund.

The odds of a shock in the match would be very long, so it's not a surprise they weren't picked, and them being in the cup isn't, in itself, a big enough story.
