From Despair To Where?
Loafer Pray for FGR

Coasting to the title last month and choking badly now

With 3 going up, the team in 4th are 9 behind with 4 to play. I think they're safe.

You know what they say FDTW

It isn't safe until the fat man sings

Fleetwood v Wimbledon this coming Saturday.

Utterly monumental game. The hosts had a similar 6-pointer on Bank Holiday Monday at Gillingham but played out a cagey goalless draw. I think this is one they will have to go out on the front foot, likewise for Wimbledon.

Tranmere and Mansfield have won only three of their last 10 between them to bring other clubs back into the playoff picture. Salford host Mansfield in their penultimate game. I'd like to see Sutton get there - their first ever season in the Football League, they don't play anyone else higher than Crawley in 12th.

Didn’t realise Wimbledon were on such poor form, winless in 26 games!

Had a few draws recently but looks like Bowen won’t keep them up

Would like to see Exeter up, they seem desperately unlucky, always in and around the top 7 but never seem to make it

Indeed. In League Two for a decade now, only twice finishing outside the top 10, and losing three play-off finals.

Surprisingly little confirmed on Easter Monday except for Derby's relegation.

Oldham looking doomed now in L2. 4 points adrift with just 9 left available - Stevenage and Barrow also have a game in hand.

On the 2nd April, Oldham won at Stevenage to jump 3 points clear of them. Since then Oldham have failed to pick up a point whilst Stevenage have taken 7 from the last 9.

FGR need 1 win from the last 3 for promotion.

In League 1, Doncaster 6 points adrift with 2 to play and will be offically down this weekend if they fail to win or if Gillingham get a point or Fleetwood win.

Play-off places up for grabs, Oxford in 8th can still get in and play MK Dons & Rotherham, so if they do it they will have had a massive impact on the automatic race. Looking very likely that someone will miss out on the play-offs having picked up 80 points on more as if Wednesday beat relegated Crewe then Sunderland will sit 7th on 77 points.

Wycombe the likely side to miss out as they have only 2 games left but one is at home to Wednesday.

Gutted for Oldham. First ex Premier League club to drop out of the Football League.

Delighted to see Oxford blow up at the end of the season, and Pompey too. Couldn't care less who goes up from L1 but it would be enjoyable to see Sunderland bottle it again.

I'd have enjoyed the local derby with Oxford, but whatever floats your boat. It's 18 years now since we played our nearest neighbours.

I swear League 2 is the same every season:

It always seems that 1 club absolutely slams the league and then folds away and crumbles (FGR this time)

Exeter always bottle the play offs literally EVERY single year

A team drops out and finishes bottom that you go "huh, how did they survive for so long as they are awful" and then another which is "ah that is such a shame, they were in League 1 not long ago"

About 13 teams in the contention for a play off place at the final 2 games of the season

A 93rd minute goal sending a team down and keeping one safe

Fair to say Sheff Wednesday now fancying their chances of autos with Rotherham and MK losing tonight gap is 4.

Wednesday have a game in hand on MK and Rotherham have imploded.

Some interesting fixtures still to be played

Saturday 23rd
Rotherham vs Oxford
Wigan vs Plymouth
Wycombe vs Sheffield Wednesday

Tuesday 26th
Sunderland vs Rotherham

Saturday 30th
Plymouth vs MK Dons

Interesting that with just 2 games to go (3 for a couple of teams), every team down to 7th will fancy a shot at automatics still, still think Sunderland have a squeak

They have a very small squeak - they would need to win all 3 including the Rotherham game and hope Rotherham don't win one of their remaining two or find a 13 goal swing over the next 3 - and then hope that MK and Weds drop points. If they are only 3 points adrift after Saturday then they will fancy it.

Could easily see a situation where Rotherham, MK, Plymouth, Wednesday and Sunderland could all get the second auto spot on the last day. Very possible that the table could look this after 45 games

1. Wigan 91 pts
2. Rotherham 83
3. MK Dons 83
4. Wednesday 83
5. Sunderland 83
6. Plymouth 82

MK have Morecombe next so will likely be on 84 or 86 in reality but unless they get to 86 then all the top 6 will know they could join Wigan in the autos.

Incredible turn around from Wigan. Got absolutely fcuked over by their owner and relegated from the Champ, with little to no sympathy because they're only Wigan. Started last season with something like 5 pros on their books, were bottom at Christmas and somehow avoided relegation. A year later and they're on the verge of winning the league.

They also have the added bonus of not being Rotherham.

Hardly an inspiring fixture though (hasten to add for either team)

Struggle to think of a worse trio to come up than Wigan, Rotherham and MK with of course, Norwich and Watford returning

At least if MK come up nobody can label Reading the most irrelevant team in the league.
