The results are the same, hard working people getting short changed by their employer ( in the name of this glorious game). Cause and effect brings those same results.
Chelsea have thrived on the money that supports Putin

Sorry, misread what you had said.
I get the feeling of hatred towards Abramovich, I welcome sanctions against him and a ban on him profiting personally. I just don't like the thought of a 20 year old kid not picking up their wages, not sure it helps anything in the grand scheme of things. I'd like to think they'll be a work around so that the staff can still be paid at least.
Same is true for any sanction against someone or something rich. It always hits someone low down you could consider innocent.
I'm with stranded, you know the owner is dodgy, you accept the consequences if sanctions for that splash on you.
But the fans don't pick the owners of their clubs-don't we just know it as well?.
We have to accept that our clubs are tradeable objects rather than what they were originally, players representing a particular geographical area.
I know Chelsea fans who were happy to support their club before the big money arrived and hark back to those days believing that it was much more fun especially having had such defence-first managers in recent years.
For them the success of the past 10 years or so has been great but not the be all and end all.
Dodgy ownership exists all over the place, even at poor old Everton which wrongly tries to portray itself as the "people's club" when it has splashed out half a billion in the past 3 years using foreign money emanating from the same type of source as Chelsea..
I think we have to accept that football reflects society and the UK has been rife with foreign investment regardless of which "foreign" has been involved be it Russian, Chinese, Far Eastern or whoever, so Chelsea FC might even consider themselves as victims for being the first club called out for its dodgy connections when others are just as culpable on so many levels especially that of human rights records.
We come back to what we want from our football clubs and it is different for different fans.
Some want the glory, however achieved, others just want a club that exists for their local area; some want wins regardless of entertainment, others want what they think of as entertaining football with the occasional success.
