Franchise FC If Derby get out of this we’re in trouble

Was just about to post the same thing. They were lucky...very lucky...but got the three points.

If we lose our next two games Derby will be just 11 points behind us. We simply HAVE to avoid defeat on Monday (anything we pick
up on Wednesday is a bonus).

Need to keep an eye on Barnsley, Peterboro, Cardiff and Hull. Really need these teams to drop points at all times.

Can't help but feel we have a nervy four months ahead of us. Obviously, would love to be wrong

Stop bloody panicking Derby are on 1.2 pg so far, they need 1.7 pg for the rest of the season. They`ve score 19 goals in 23 games.

Derby play like a team who have nothing to lose. If they even get close to getting out of it, pressure will tell.

Plus they may well lose what saleable assets they have left next month.

If we're worrying about Derby we may as well be dead and buried.

Just count down the wins, we need eight and the odd draw and job done. We must surely be able to pick up 8 bloody wins.

People need to stop going on about Derby…. They need automatic promotion form to get out of trouble, that is not happening.

Brizzle reporting 38m loss for last season (and 10m the season before)

Guessing their wage bill is also sky high. They bought a lot of rated players with the money they got for Webster

Interesting comment made in their press release as well. Said that COVID hasn’t just meant playing 8n front of empty stadia but has ruined player trading as well. Suspect they have been like us. Paying too much, especially in wages, to a lot of very average players and then unable to get rid of them as all the other clubs have needed to tighten their belts as well.

I think we will see more Championship clubs reporting much bigger losses than normal ad at risk of EFL sanctions. Nottingham Forest must be high on that list

Our shit trading started about a decade before Covid

Doesn’t ffp say clubs are only allowed to lose £39m across 3 seasons? Could be dodgy times at Ashton Gate soon.

Lots of adjustments to be made though. Depends how they are structured and who those accounts are for. With COVID the losses are averaged across an extra season.

Think it is 4 at the mo, with Covid affected losses halved over the 2 year period - so 38 this and 10 last is actually a 24m loss for FFP - assuming that is the FFP loss. So if they have lost less than 15m in the other 2 seasons, they will be fine from an FFP perspective.

They had a 10m profit the season before so points deductions etc aren’t part of the equation yet

However considering they’ve no one worth selling for any decent money afaik that might be a different story in a year or two

BBC are saying the £10m was a loss the previous season so if that's right they're already outside FFP figs on 2 years alone...unless they were in profit before that they are looking at points deductions soon.

Anyone know what's going on re Hull and Stoke? Stoke's numbers look worse than ours

Blackburn with 22 points from the last 24. Let’s see if they’re still hanging onto that in 18 months time

Renaissance under Wilder for Boro too with a fairly limited squad

10m profit the season before the 10m loss I meant - ie 18/19

Not sure on the best place to put it, so hear will do.

In order to stop games being called off due to positive tests, the EFL have come up with the briliant idea to stop testing on matchdays. Brilliant. Can't see any issues there.
