WFor the likes of Forest Derby Stoke etc they have all had terrible seasons. If I was a fan then I would at least be thinking at least I didn’t Pay for a season ticket and have to watch that rubbish week in week out.

Whilst we have had our best season for three years and we didn’t get to see any of it.

Rightly IMO given the fact the club has been turning in some really indifferent, at best, performances since March and consequently thrown away its “nailed on” play off spot.

Players clearly physically and mentally fatigued - consequence of small squad, very short break between seasons, crazy fixture schedules and injuries limiting ability to rotate players. Added to that injuries to key players - Morrison's injury and absence couldn't have come at a worse time as he's such a positive and calming influence within the team.

The last few weeks excepted, I've really enjoyed the style of football our talented, youngish, squad has produced this season. So much better, IMO, than that we endured over the previous few seasons.

And at least we're spared the game and passion killer VAR for at another season now!

Beyond the first 8 games, was there really that much to see? Our form has been mid-table since then.

Still better than the form over the last 3 years though.

And beyond the first 12 it's been top 10

Let’s just be honest.

We’ve been shite.

It’s been horribly disappointing and we’re gutted.

7th and 21st make no real difference except 7th sounds nicer. Is that really worth the ffp shite we might be in?

We might be calling this season a disaster for years to come. But hey at least we’ve gone from one useless unrelegated league position to another nicer sounding but equally useless unrelegated league position. Woohoo.

We’ve ballsed up. It’s been shit. End of.

Two sides out of 24 get autos. That’s Norwich and Watford, immediately ex-Prem clubs with great squads and some top players.

Four more sides make the PO’s and three of those get horribly disappointed.

It’s quite likely Bournemouth will also go back up. If they don’t it will be because Brentford, a side that has steadily transformed itself over a few years into an exciting attacking side, now with a brand new stadium, did them.

So three “Premiership Sides” and another oven-ready.

Is 7th really worse than making the PO’s and then losing in the semis?

After giving up the Reading Way, Reading FC have gone from a basket-case and tipped for RELEGATION, to one going into game 44 STILL with a chance of making the top six.

For me that is MASSIVE, a great turn-round despite some horrible historical financial mis-management, rapid turn-over of managers, of owners, transfer embargoes, failure or inability to strengthen in January.

We have developed another batch of youngsters, have fantastic training facilities, and, finally, at worst, top half expectations.

To say we are or have been shit or shite is frankly ridiculous, and in your heart, you must know that.

Sides lose games. Even champions lose games. Stam managed to lose 7-1 yet still finished third.

We have been top seven all season. If that is “shit”, you have a very strange definition of shit.

We haven’t done it by buying a Russian and giving him 60K a week and a sexy London pad.

Instead we’ve got a pair of CB’s that cost a total of one million and two FB’s who cost nothing.

Our two CDM’s also cost nowt and our new star midfielder is home-baked.

We spent/made commitments seasons ago and are still paying the price, but at the end of last season that problem was partly dealt with, and further departures at the end of this season will almost clean up the mess.

We may get a penalty, we may not, but if we do get a penalty, we may be one of many such clubs, so I don’t think we will be at risk of relegation.

IF there’s a points deduction I think we’ll be mid-table, will get financially leaner, hopefully turn Holmes and McIntyre into first-on-the-team-sheet and be ready to challenge in 2022-2023

Just another additional to our world class chokes .....play off finals when in two nil up and a missed penalty, play off final when winning in extra time, play off final when in front of penalty shoot out , FA Cup semi final ( bit harsh but should have won), one off games to get promotion, one off games to stay in the Premiership and now choked to make the play offs.

Are we the best chokers in football history ?

We must be careful to ignore our opponents. When they win, we lose, right?

And I think the opposite is also true.

Am I the only one with this dread feeling ,that it will be service back to normal next season, with us back amongst the dead men ? Particularly if we suffer a points deduction.Although TBF a lot of other clubs in the league will be hit as well with penalty points.

Not me, although I am presuming we keep Holmes, McIntyre, Yiadom, Morrison, Meite, Rhino, Laurent, Swift at least

A little bit of judicious buying/selling and we should be fine.
