If we make the playoffs, Brentford are the team I fear the most and are the best team on their day. Swansea are really nothing special and I'd back us to beat them with a full strength team.

Quite a bold statement considering we`ve not beaten the Swans in 14 meetings since 2008. (D6 L8)

He did say if we had a full strength side. I would fancy our chances against them too.

Would rather avoid them given our recent record against them but they’re not so much the crisp, one touch passing side that used to dismantle us at ease that they used to be - more an ugly, grind out games sort of team

And let’s not forget we somehow managed to bear Fulhamona a few years back when not many were expecting us to get through

Is this somewhat similar (but not as marked) as Stam's 1st season? That season, when we lost, we got slaughtered! Although another difference was we seemed to be able to bounce back quicker that season, there weren't any 4 defeats in a row type runs - that I remember anyway.

Similar to an extent. We lost 13 games that season:

So in 13 losses we let in 39 of the 64 goals we conceded. We kept 15 clean sheets over the season, so in the remaining 18 games we conceded 25.

In retrospect our defence was fairly average that year - for example relegated Wigan let in 7 less than us but we scored 68 goals.

This year, the team is on course to score about 65 goals and concede 48, so a much stronger side overall.

Well, I wasn't wrong. Just over confident. That beginning blew all expectations out of proportion!
