Either nobody wanted him or Gomes knew Ilori would be off and didn't want to have to spend the fee on a replacement. He's not here much longer anyway, June 1st he will be released.

Thought he currently has a knee injury, which would obv impact other clubs' interest? Unaware of any evidence that he doesn't want to play. And/or that he's festering, being a knob, is a negative influence on others, etc. The fact that he's retained the club captaincy under successive managers would tend to support that he does and isn't, imo.
