Ah, but what if a person was speaking through a microphone whilst outside the room? Of course the speakers would have to be in the wall to make sure the room is empty.

Lower WestTerminal Boardom And this thread alone illustrates why I rarely visit this place any more.
Looks to me as if Gomes has identified what's required in the squad and gone and filled the gaps. Bringing in 5 new players mid season is a risk - just look how well Tommy Burns did with the magnificent 7. The positive is that there are 19 games to go. The next 4 months or so will be more than interesting.
All on loan. Doesn't solve the problem for next season. This is akin to Steve Clarke's reign in reverse. Short termism.

They’re not in the room then.

Thing is should we go down we have to cut back heavily and signing 5 permanent players is out of the equation.
It's a sensible move from Gomes and personally, I think it will work

Would be interesting to hear what Lower West’s approach would be that would make more sens than the loan approach.
1. Sign no one ?
2. Commit to 2-3 year contracts with the ongoing financial implications, and assuming the right quality of player would sign on that basis
Not sure either of those 2 make sense
As long as it is being done strategically, with a couple of plans in place for the summer depending on what division we are in.

Forbury Lion We've had some great loan signings over the years, I think the issue is when we sign players that the top clubs want to send out for experience or because they are returning from injury/out of form rather than players who are playing to secure their next move.
Matthew Upson, Marcus Hahnemann, Luke Chadwick, Glenn Little, Matt Murray - all loan signings.

Quite, this is the most sensible course of action at this point in time. It wouldn't surprise me if the club have a first refusal on a couple of the players in question as none of them are likely to get near their parent club's first XI's any time soon.
If it doesn't work, we likely go down and all of these players are out of reach. It does work, these players will have been a part of that and hopefully enjoyed it and want to come back next season either as a full season loan or a permanent transfer.
Miazga and Baker are both 23, the chances of them breaking into the Chelsea side any time soon is pretty much zero. Championship or abroad are the likely next moves for both, so we could be a realistic next step. Martinez will want to play, best he can hope for at Arsenal is a bench warming role, so again who knows if successful. Ejaria is only 21 so may feel he has another year or 2 to push on at Liverpool but will be tough for him esp. if they win the league this year.
Only real question mark for me about an extended deal is Oliveria - if he is a success here will bigger fish be interested again?

They signed him as an undisclosed loan signing, He was made to pixelate his face in training and has the name/number on his shirt redacted - probably explains why nobody knew about it until just nowHendoForbury Lion We've had some great loan signings over the years, I think the issue is when we sign players that the top clubs want to send out for experience or because they are returning from injury/out of form rather than players who are playing to secure their next move.

Don't remember signing Matt Murray.
I do remember Glenn Murray
