Kermogants return

by paddy20 » 18 Dec 2017 09:54

Apparently Eddie Howe fell out with Kermo as he came back from the break overweight. If you recall he was not that great when he joined us. His form seemed to link with him looking as though he lost a bit of weight. I think he has come back from injury overweight again. Kermo needs to diet!!

First thing I noticed on Saturday that he appeared to be carrying a few extra pounds.

Quite surprised we tied him down for another year contract before he proved his fitness and form.

Even when not scoring he is a useful player to have around

I think his ability as a goalscorer is not what makes him valuable to the team. The threat he causes with his positioning (which has certainly been a bit off form recently), strength and aerial ability is opening up more attacking outlets than the opposition can effectively mark out of the game.
I dont think without him we would have gotten as many team goals as we have recently. He demands attention. His extra timber hasnt weakened his main threat imo although I will admit he looks a little rusty at the old shot taking.

I know he's a senior player, but that shouldn't stop the club nutritionist (I'm assuming we have one, unless that went out the door with the sports scientist) from providing dietary advice for injured players - In many cases, they probably need a different diet whilst injured if they are unable to exercise/train as they no longer have to fuel that exercise/training.

He's also useful defensively, especially in the box for set pieces but does more than his fair share of harrying opposition defenders and the odd tactical foul to stop attacks
