- got out to an AM game pre-MadStad down in the Surrey Elite League: Ripley Village 3-2 Virginia Water
- Due to the onset of the Cricket season the Villagers have had to ‘borrow’ some venues to complete their fixtures. Game was played at Kingsmeadow Playing Field a Public Recreation/Sports Area behind Kingfield Stadium in Woking. Normally home to AFA affiliated senior side Old Wokingians and a Youth set up called Meadow Sports.
- Virginia Water currently lodging at Stag Meadow, needed a win to set them up favourably for their final clash next weekend at leaders Tooting Bec. Had they prevailed they’d have gone into that game with a lead of two points. TB also ‘lodge’, at Imperial Fields Tooting & Mitcham FC.
- Ripley did not co-operate and ran out worthy winners leaving VW needing to win next weekends clash

Can't believe we lost this. Winch were all over Totton, but they scored and we didn't.

Totton's goal was a 40 yard lob with our keeper off his line. Didn't really see it, but it's being described as a "worldie" on our board.

Keep an eye out for Totton's keeper Patrick O'Flaherty - a loanee from Bournemouth - 6 ft oxf*rd 12 with the wingspan of a small aircraft - he pulled off a couple of outstanding saves, and was unbeatable in the air. Already a seasoned time-waster too.

One point from 5 games since the new manager came in, and with our final game of the season next Saturday being Hereford away, that ain't gonna change. Something better before next season.

I'm looking forward to a massive game of football tomorrow in Ruislip. It is Wealdstone Vs Hungerford Town.

As it looks like both Poole Town and Hungerford have been denied entry to this season's NLS play-offs (subject to appeal) the Stones can get in through the back door if they can overtake Hampton & Richmond who are 1 point ahead from the remaining two games. It is going to be a massive play off match down at the Vale.

It'll be great to see Reading loanee Lewis Ward in goal for Town. Perhaps Leigertwood will be in the crowd again like he was the last time Ward played at Wealdstone when he was in goal for Margate earlier in the season.

I hear Bobby Wilkinsons interviews on BBC RB with Adie Williams every other week when on the way to the Mad Stad so it'll be interesting to see what Hungerford are all about. But I'll be supporting the Stones. Come on you Stones. Let me have two teams in the play offs this season.

One report on the Maidenhead site suggested just over 3000.

My ticket, bought on Wednesday, was numbered 2754, so 3000 can't be far off.

Corinthian-Casuals v Godalming Town –G’s will take their place back in the CCLP (probably) next season

- Guernsey were in serious danger of dropping out too up until about a month ago, since when, the sides below them, singularly failed to put any kind of run together to reel them in. The other two sides to be relegated, fit logically into the respective local feeder leagues hence why I’m fairly certain Godalming should be heading Combined Counties.
- Three Bridges will go to the Southern Combination (ex-Sussex) and Chatham Town will drop into the Southern Counties East (ex-Kent)
- I’ve no idea about grading and eligibility for 17-18 but based on likely finishing positions Haywards Heath or Shoreham may come up from Sussex ; the mostly Kent-based league will supply one of Crowborough or Ashford Utd – whither Hartley Wintney is anyone’s guess – they are even far enough west to be placed in the either of the Southern Div One’s.
- POs for the three Isthmian Leagues are this coming midweek with a few positions 2-5 to be jostled for on Saturday - probably home advantage a major consideration to be decided.
- In One South Tooting & Mitcham are Champions-elect with Dorking Wdrs are likely to be runners up – barring a remarkable GD change – when the sides meet @ Dorking’s Westhumble ground in the final game – DW would need to win by 5 . Assuming they don’t, they will host Hastings in one S-F with the other being between Greenwich Boro & Corinthian Casuals – the side finishing higher after tomorrow host the respective PO S-F and again the higher placed side hosts the fInal.

- Alresford are 5th ; Andover Town 15th and Whitchurch Utd down in 21st are almost certainly down; I hadn’t noticed the league had voted to relegate THREE sides for 17-18 – possibly the ‘Jam Boys’ , Verwood and Fawley (though Fawley could conceivably overhaul Cowes Sports) – the three sides coming up from the First division are all relatively new entrants to the Wessex – Hamble Club, Baffins Milton Rovers and Shaftesbury Town.

Great game of football at Grosvenor Vale Ruislip this afternoon. The Stones made easy work of Hungerford Town. On the evidence of today it is quite difficult to understand what it is about Hungerford that has seen them fly so high in the league. I'm not really sure what they have about them as a team. Wealdstone seemed to outclass them in every department. I suppose the Stones have improved quite a lot in the second half of the season and are now a much better side than they were before. The Stones probably are a better side than Hungerford at the moment. Maybe that's what it was. Wealdstone are just better.

Our Reading lad Lewis Ward had a solid game in goal for Hungerford. He conceded three goals, but what could he do. His defence didn't give him a chance.

They have built a lovely new all seater stand behind the goal at Wealdstone. That sorts out the ground grading issues. If the Stones can just make up that point on Hampton & Richmond next week then they could be in the playoffs. Here's hoping the FA reject Hungerfords appeal on Wednesday! Let's get the Stones up through the back door. In all fairness though, Wealdstone are currently a better team than Hungerford. They haven't been over the course of the entire season but right now, they certainly look a much better side. The Stones have improved a lot since XMAS and have bolstered the side with some astute signings.

Rather disappointing loss for Maidenhead in their big clash with Ebbsfleet, especially after going a goal up.

Ebbsfleet's equaliser changed the game, as they didn't really look like they believed up to that point. From there Maidenhead looked pretty shot, and struggled to create anything, and never really pressed convincingly for an equaliser. Some quite blatant time-wasting from Ebbsfleet helped kill any momentum in the closing stages.

3377 there to see it, probably the biggest crowd at Maidenhead since rationing ended.

Although I heard the Hungerford coach talking with some of the fans behind the goal. He was saying that they have the appeal on Wednesday and they seem quite hopeful. He was saying that today's game would be really hard for Hungerford but they really need to win it. Maybe that didn't feed through to the players though. They weren't that impressive at all.

That is a brilliant crowd for National League South Football. It shows that there is a bit of potential for clubs like Maidenhead and Wealdstone.

It's great fun down in the NLS. It's proper, old fashioned football. Football like it used to be at Elm Park. The crowds need to get a bit bigger to really feel like the good old days. But the NLS has that sort of feel about it.
