Manager Consistency

by LoyalRoyal22 » 01 Feb 2017 13:31

Assuming we do not get promoted ( or even if we do) I think it is quite likely Jaap Stam will have some suitors this summer and could realistically leave, I cant see him being particularly loyal to our fan base & we have all the uncertainty with the ownership situation

You would expect Brian Tevreden to be around for the longer term & I just hope we go for like for like appointments with our next managers. Managers or Coaches that are on the same page with our current dutch footballing philosophy.

You can see how well it worked for Swansea (Martinez, Sousa,Rodgers, Laudrup) , and it means the squad doesn't need a complete overhaul every transfer window

Brian has talked about the Ajax model he is trying to create, so I hope this is the case 8)

If we go up Stam will stay. No doubt.
Even if we just miss out I would be certain he will stay, provided he gets support from the owners. And he's had that so far.
I know someone who knows Stam and he says that as far as Stam is concerned this is a big 'project' for him. He is not using us for short term purposes, he genuinely wants to take the club places.
Of course if Man Utd, Arsenal or Liverpool came in for him then he'd be tempted. But he's had the chance of a job at a lower end Prem club and told them he was not interested because of what he is doing here.

Doubt Stam would leave this summer. He has achieved great things so far after inheriting a shambles - expect he is fully eyeing up a promotion challenge next season after having a year or so to shape the squad

He seems a pretty grounded chap who is willing to bide his time to wait for the right move to come up

He never played more than 79 appearances for one club (United). I'm sure not all moves were pushed through by him but perhaps shows he isnt someone who stay around that long.....

But it is entirely different being a player to being a manager though...

Can't see him leaving either way given this window.

But, hypothetically, if he did. Who would we want next? Someone Dutch or Ajaxy?

Bakkati? Bergkamp? Davids? de Boer? Gullit? Hasselbaink? Kluivert? Meulensteen? Overmars? Reiziger? Rijkaard? Seedorf? Tevreden? Ulderink? van Basten? van Bronckhorst? van Gaal? Westerveld?

After yesterday's events, I'd say our Dutch maestro is concentrating more on the here and now
