Deja Vu?

by Royal_jimmy » 31 Jan 2017 23:38

In the 2011/12 season at this stage we were quite a few points behind West Ham and Southampton and made a few signings and went on a great run. Does anyone feel confident we could do something similar?

Still we have 3 tricky games coming up vs Ipswich, Barnsley and Brentford but I think we are capable of acquiring 7 points. I think the 4 signings over the last couple days could be key with plenty of strength in depth.

It would take a real stinker of a last 17 games to miss out on the top 6. Nevertheless, it's been one of real promise!

Who knows but why should we be less confident than we were back then?

We certainly have what it takes to give the top two something to think about and they will be the ones bricking it if the gap starts to close.

There is not a bad side in the top 6 so anyone who thinks Brighton and Newcastle are home and hosed is seriously deluded.

That season everyone thought West Sham and Soton were home and hosed. And we travel to Brighton live on Sky just like we did with Soton. Could the seagulls choke? I would oxf*rd luv it if they did........ :D

We have Newcastle and Leeds at home, Brighton, Huddersfield and Sheffield Weds away. If we can get a decent haul from those fixtures we could find ourselves in the mix.

Somebody mentioned before but we have a very favourable (on paper) run in.

I'm starting to get excited which is worrying as a Reading fan. Something would have to go horrifically wrong for us to miss out on the top six now, 3rd or 6th I don't care so long as we go into them with a bit of form. Like 11/12 I'm not even looking at the top two. All we can do is keep winning.

Get any more than 8 points from that little lot and I'll begin to seriously believe we can cause a likely miracle.

It's unlikely but we are 100/1 to win the league. That's surely worth a few quid
