Not sure if this has been posted before - but some footage on the BFI of the FA Cup defeat to Villa in 1929 at a snowy Elm Park.

Love how quickly the keeper kicks the ball back into play after less than a second from catching it. It's like watching kids where they just want to run after the ball and just never stop for a minute.

Amazingly how good they can make old footage look too

Probably because in The 1920's forwards were allowed to clothesline keepers and then stamp on their head if they were caught in possession of the ball.

Probably because in The 1920's forwards were allowed to clothesline keepers and then stamp on their head if they were caught in possession of the ball.

Whereas these days you only have to look in the vague direction of a keeper and the ref awards a free kick.

That may be the oldest footage of RFC? Must have been a cold winter 6th round and still snow?
