Hector and Piazon

by Crux » 28 Apr 2016 13:23

Gone back to Chelsea. Hector was ok for a while in the holding role but Piazon hasn't really done much.

I loom forward to seeing Hector against us next season while on loan at the likes of Brentford.

cos they aren't going to play and Chelsea would rather have them around their place to get them intergrated before the preseason....

It's a shame Hector hasn't had the send off I think he deserves, as an Academy player that came through and captained the team, got his first international caps here and impressed against Arsenal at Wembley.

Piazon wasn't bad in a few games but he was just so lightweight and didn't put his class on so many games he could have been the difference in.

started weak lightweight and lazy. thought he was never going to make it.
but by the end, under brian I thought he had bulked up/become much stronger in the tackle and when competing for the ball, and was much more inclined to track back and help out when we lost the ball, and I think he will go on to have a decent career.

Hector's a bit of a loss, but not big time. Piazon was basically a massive disappointment.

Having watched Hector since u21 level its a shame he wasnt there for a good send off against preston. Piazon grew on me, when first arrived thought he was a modern lightweight south american type but he has improved alot and got stronger.
Both will be missed but we move on

Piazon looks a good prospect for the future. Needs regular game time to develop. Even our academy players are getting more experience out on loan.

Piazon had his moments. The third goal against West Brom was the highlight for me. Not because of Piazon but it was a lovely team goal. Great skill from Vydra, John and Piazon.

Brian won't sign Piazon because he doesn't do the dirty stuff. Promotion cannot be achieved unless every single player in the team is prepared to do the dirty stuff first and foremost. They have to earn the right to play and show off their skills.

The stand out feature of the 106 side was it's ability to dig in and defend. Every player was a great defender. Whether it was Doyle and Kitson chasing everything down high up the pitch, or Sidwell and Harper who would cover every blade of grass to get the ball back. Or Hunt, Convey, Little who were great going forward but they could defend too. The whole team defended. That is the kind of spirit we need again.

Too many of our players this season didn't have an all round game. They were just simply not good enough. Piazon is a luxury player, a passenger and he will need to go to a side that can afford to take 1 passenger. If there is a well organised unit of 10 players then Piazon could be their creative spark. It'll be interesting to see where he plays next season.

Catch up Dave. Given that you've got contacts in the ticket office, you're normally the one with any breaking news.
