Pseud O'Nym When I was a teenager in the 1960s there were loads of Poles in Caversham Heights too, something to do with there having been a Polish RAF regiment near there in WWII, so mentioning Albert Road should also be hilarious.

I wish the whole thing would just be polished off

Sutekh The Thais really are going to get serious stick on this if he does not perform and Washington does well at the fakes.

somehow I don't think it was a straight choice between spending £400,000 on Rakels or £3 million on Washington.

I remember the Polish flyers during WWII. They were attached to an RAF station at Goring Heath.

I think the subtleties of that might be lost on a few of our fans and fellow posters

When we pulled out and QPR announced his signing I just assumed they shoved big wages in his face that we wouldn't meet.

This is going well...... does not speak the language and is not fit either :|

Brian said, “Deniss Rakels has been training with the fitness guys, trying to get himself up to speed. He had a mini break in Poland, so we’ll get him fit as soon as can.

“He doesn’t know our players particularly well and he’s coming from a different country – we’ve got to give him time to adapt.”

This unfit due to a winter break malarky sounds like an excuse to me. Didn't wolves sign someone from Poland in the January window and he was playing straight away?

Why the desperation to find a conspiracy?

He is a Latvian who's been living in Poland. Why on earth would he speak English?

I think you will find the Caversham RAF Housing was attached to RAF Shinfield Park. I have a map showing both on the same page

that does rather assume we were willing to spend £3 million on one player. QPR possibly offering another £10000 a week would just be detail.

We supposedly had a bid accepted and then pulled out.

Has scored 15 goals this season and isn't match fit. Is that a reflection on Polish football??

They have a winter break, as I understand it. And the PL and Championship are renowned for being physically very demanding and competitive on top of that.

I wouldn't start to worry about his fitness for another week or so. If he's still not making the bench then, or playing and looking like he can't hack the pace, that's the point to get concerned he's only got one lung.

Just another 'Sa' type deal.

Watch, they will become very common.

In, play a couple of games, dropped, some vague excuses, out.

E-P, everything you have been posting recently is all doom and gloom and pessimism.

The worrying thing is, I can't actually fault any of it - there is a definite feeing of :| around the club at the moment.
