Brosef Stalin
paultheroyal Selling Di Maria will weaken Man Utd. All is good.

he ended up being benched for half the season

With Depay coming in, i don't think they will miss him that much

From Despair To Where?
genome Hmm, well, considering £11m for Ross McCormack and the fact JR is as close to a guaranteed 20 goal striker at this level as you're going to get, depressingly £14m sounds about the right value.

£14m for a Championship player I can maybe see but £14m being spent by a Championship club that's just mental. That's basically a full season's wage bill for the whole squad blown on a transfer fee for 1 player

Having said that I severely doubt that's all up front, which will look better on FFP.

Middlesborough to have bid £12million for Rhodes - FFP is surely dead? Where have they suddenly got all this money from?

For the umpteenth time - FFP is based around 'accounting' losses. When you buy a player that expense goes straight onto the balance sheet as an asset, and the only thing to hit the P&L (I.e. that actually counts towards the losses figure) is the amortisation charge. Therefore a 14m fee over a 5 year contract will 'only' have a 2.66m hit on the accounts each year.

Wages are the real killer for FFP. They are entirely P&L expense.

Luke Garbutt to Fulham on loan and Darius Henderson has moved to Scunthorpe United from Leyton Orient.

I appreciate that and as Winchester subsequently said, it's all about the amortisation of the fee but i doubt he'll be on less than £25,000 a week so you're still looking at close to £4m a year for a club who, from the most recent figures I could find (2012-13) were losing £18m a year and who's wage bill was already 146% of their income. At that time, Gibson was reportedly putting £1m a month into the club to pay the bills. This is a massive gamble by Boro.

Sutekh Noel Hunt in talks with Southend United.

On Talksport this morning, Phil Brown has apparently persuaded Hunt to sign for Southend Utd, despite interest from Chicago Fire.

Southend --- Chicago.
Southend --- Chicago.

Almost certainly will be earning more at Southend given the wage cap in the MLS and doesn't have to put up with the ridiculously cold winters they get over there. His wife may not have fancied the move either.

Half of them want to be Irish anyway so he'd probably be alright.

Money, sure. I'm just surprised that the lure of a 'big' league (in terms of profile) wasn't enough. And he's always known where the goal is - look what Bradley Wright-Phillips has done over there.

Wasn't he involved in some sort of soccer camp in Charlotte?

Just saw the rumoured fee Bournemouth paid for Tyrone Mings - £8m. That makes him worth two Aaron Cresswells. West Ham got great value for money.

Watching SSN a couple of days ago and they were doing a Twitter poll... asking "Which team has had the best transfer window?"

The options being: Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool or Manchester City
