theresayakonthepitch Oh sorry......of course the mate of a STH who isnt a member and just fancies a day out should of course get a ticket before me.

How rude of me to think otherwise.

On the other hand, shouldn't I as season ticket be able to a buy a ticket for my daughter, so we can sit together. She is a member but wouldn't have enough points in the first few days

Maybe let the +1 for STHs be for members with a certain number of points. I can see that as being ok. What I cant accept is someone without a membership or with virtually no points getting priority over other members.

Harpers So Solid Crew One per st holder, and allow a points level as well on day one.
Leave that for first three days say.
Then a further three days for all members card holders, then open sale.
Though I would expect to sell out within five days.
This would allow st to buy more than one if there was a member card holder they wanted to go.with.

The club know the number of STHs and the number of people on certain levels of points.

Tickets could go on immediate sale to 31,000 qualifying fans - 1 for each STH and 1 for members who have enough points to put them in that bracket. The points cut off put be pretty low on that basis and it would probably be everyone who has been to more than a handful of games over the past ten years? And both STHs and members would be able to buy at the same time and sit together.

They should make it public that there's enough to go round. If there's any left they could go on sale on a lower points level and then to general.

This seems quite sensible to me.

And it would have the added benefit of giving day-trippers like me a long-range outlook at our chances of getting tickets.

How many people who went to Huddersfield/Cardiff/Derby wouldn't actually get a ticket if this wasn't taken in to account?

I'd imagine that if you've trekked to any of those games you would have a ST or a lot of points anyway. Unless of course you live up north which would therefore not require much effort to go anyway.

My son went to all three of those games, but doesn't have a member card - I got him the tickets. If it's not 2 per ST holder, he won't be able to go. Does that sound fair to you guys? DOES IT?

Yep, sounds fair to me. Maybe you could give him your seat if you think it's not fair?

If you're that loyal, why haven't you got a ST?

We don't need fair weather fans like you coming along for a "day out"

Royal Lady Don't you have to get the tickets through Wembley Stadium anyway, not the club?

I really hope they do use Wembley as their ticketing queueing system is superb.

Last time it was some other outfit in the West country that ran their system on a PC which kept falling over with the huge demand.

We thought our online system was bad, theirs was completely amateurish.

Wembley wouldn't have our database though to know who had what points/st holder etc..

31,000 tickets....12,500 STH...even if every single one got 2tickets that would still leave 6000 tickets...what's the issue!!! Plenty for everyone...

The club will be keen to shift tickets asap...they won't say 1per STH and then be left with potentially with 18,500 tickets to shift...remember fans come last on the list...it's all about maxing sales...

Have been a STH but not this season as been living away for a while until recently. Been going to games for 40 years.
The reason for me getting annoyed at others maybe getting tickets before me is that I am loyal. That's the point.

6000 is not plenty for everyone. Maybe in Wigan.
The STHs will probably take them even if they are not going to use them themselves. They will know they can pass them on.

Actually.....might be the best solution. At least then there will be plenty available outside on the day for the rest of us.

So if you've been a season ticket holder previously then presumably you have a member card with enough points on it to get a ticket in the second batch after season ticket holders. Whats the issue? Or was that before 2003 when the points system started.

Make sure your bestest mate in the whole wide world is an STH

Good point. In any case, how do we know he's not a Gooner in disguise coming on here (especially given his low post count), drumming up sympathy, waiting for a ST holder with no mates to offer to take him.

The point is that a non STH with a decent number of points should not have to 'wait and see' if there are tickets left after STHs have taken a +1 for whomever they like. Yes, I've probably got enough points for the 2nd round but so will a lot of other people who don't hold a current ST for whatever reason.

So the system should be tailored to someone who can't understand the simple maths of how the allocation could work, almost certainly meaning a lot of people have huge problems getting tickets.
How many points do you have ? If it is 2000 plus then please just shut up. If it's not, then shut up......

Clubs always reward STH more. They pay their money up front which allows the club to make more interest and plan ahead for the forthcoming season. When your average attendance is around 15k or so - you can hardly complain you're getting DOUBLE the tickets you usually sell at home games!

ST money doesn't earn interest, it keeps the club running. It won't be sat in a bank somewhere it will be paying bills. I doubt many clubs have much money sat in the bank for long. ST money comes in at the end of the season when all other forms of income disappear.
