How does that "count against him"?
So sacrificing a piece then winning a game of chess,
you'd focus on the lost piece? That's mental.
IF, he chooses a very weak side and if we get hammered (two IFs)
but then win Monday night, maybe even have a miracle v Arsenal
and get to the final, people will be full of praise.
If he rests just a few and we get unlucky, pick up an injury or two
then lose on Monday, he'll be slaughtered.
Whatever team he puts out Saturday, weak or strong, he may still lose both
on Saturday and Monday. Then the cry will be he should have kept a winning side
together for the momentum.
And worse case, we field a second 11, get beaten 5-6-7-8 nil, lose on the
Monday, fail to win another game (two bad defeats and the team loses heart)
then we go down on the last day due to bad GD.
Whatever, unless we get to Wembley, they are lining up to say SC was wrong
and they knew better.
