percy_freeman I found this post on readingrumours.co.uk and I totally agree with it.
Is the awaited confirmation football league a smokescreen put out by RFC?
The club, Charles Watts, SJM have all gone on record saying the ownership approval is a simple tick box exercise, but now weeks later and still no approval, fans are being told these things take time as it's a complicated consortium. Personally I think the takeover has already been approved with the club delaying announcement until the transfer window is shut, although not before banking the money from the sale of Morrison, Alfie and the pending (all but agreed) sale of Alex McCarthy.
Some RFC fans are happy with the following so called progression and playing staff additions. The introduction of Ferdinand who was a free signing and was signed as a result of our Police United/consortium and clearly not an Adkins signing. Then the signing of Cox who came as part of the sell on fee pay-off when Forest signed Michail Antonio from Wednesday so no fee involved with this signing just a convenient deal for both clubs then James Mackie came in on a season long loan which was also part of the Antonio/Forest sell-on-fee deal and was used just to sweeten things up. Then there's Norwood a 750k purchase. 750k from the millions raised in the sale of 3 decent players
We have mr Mad answering questions on behalf of Khunying Sasima Srivikorn as if he knows exactly what she is thinking as he is petrified that she might blow the clubs cover. And the we have our manager, mr positive who must be the unluckiest manager in the history of Reading football club with an ever growing horrendous injury list that gets longer by the hour and we're told we have a bright future!
As yet we still have no official confirmation of ownership yet we sell players without a second thought but yet can't seem to buy or sign or compete for decent new players. Reading fans will need to expect no singing of any worth within the next 12 months, expect to play the kids (which is a positive) BUT ALL OF THEM, AT ONCE! and expect the new unconfirmed owners of our club to raise and bank the reported 25million they paid for the club before anything of value happens on the pitch. 25 years as a supporter and never more unhappy than I am now. Wake up other Reading fans and voice your concerns before it's too late.

It's an interesting theory but unfortunately blown out of the water by 2 known facts about football club ownership:
1. If the sale had not yet been ratified by the FL (which is the case) because there was a problem, then we would not have been allowed to sign any players during the transfer window
2. If (as you assume) the sale had been completed and ratified by the FL then the club and the FL have a duty to announce the new ownership details as soon as complete. I believe that there is a ruling about exactly when this should happen, but i very much doubt that the FL would agree to "keeping it quiet" until the transfer window shuts!
