I don't understand this - nine matches wouldn't cover 4 months so why not just say banned for 4 months from playing football.

Yes, this statement makes it a bit clearer:

"A stadium ban is pronounced against the player Luis Suarez in accordance with art. 21 of the Fifa Disciplinary Code as follows: the player Luis Suarez is prohibited from entering the confines of any stadium during the period of the ban (point 3). The player Luis Suarez is prohibited from entering the confines of any stadium in which the representative team of Uruguay is playing while he has to serve the nine-match suspension (point 2).

There's no rush. They've got 4 months to play them, if friendlies count, which I don't think they do.

Copa America is 6 games if you get to the final so yeah this is basically a 2 tournament ban, possibly more if Uruguay fail to get out of the group stage in the Copa America

Is this good or bad for the development Sturridge - he's shone alongside Suarez, but it would be good to see him now the leader of a partnership with Lambert.
