southbank1871 Since when has 0-0 away from home been a particularly good first leg result in Europe? I hope Chelsea go out on away goals.

Why?

Schards#2 Can see Chelsea fielding a mickey mouse team at Liverpool, firstly, because they want to save their players for the 2nd leg and, secondly, it would be typical of Mourinho's bitter, small mindedness, now that Chelsea almost certainly can't win it, to make what was a deciding game a total anti climax.

Why are you so bitter? Its football, we haven't murdered anyone!

Because José Mourinho is a hypocrite and I really don't want to have to hear that "we know what we are chant" again.

6ft Kerplunk Wasn't the best game in the world to watch but a decent enough away performance from chelsea. Can imagine what Tyldesley and Townsend would have called it if it wasn't an English team using their European 'experience'.

Finally a sensible post. A case of playing away in the 1st leg. You would have thought no other team in history played with a defensive mindset away from home.

No Fixed Abode I'm embarrassed for most of you. All other English teams out of Europe and.we're being criticised for getting a 0-0 at a notoriously difficult place to go. I'd rather play like we did than do a City and make it virtually impossible to go through in the 2nd leg in the last round.

You're at your best in Europe when your backs are against the wall, see the season you won it and the victory in the last round against PSG. This time it's 0-0, you're at home and are expected to win. All the pressure is on Chelsea not Atleti.

Let's not forget that Simeone has experience beating a Mourinho side in similar circumstances to this from last season in the Copa Del Rey final at the Bernabéu.

When the first leg of the semi-final has been 0-0, the team who has played at home first generally goes through. Currently it's 10-3 in favour. So I agree, we're definitely up against it in the 2nd leg despite being at home.

Still, nobody gave us hope in the semi-final in 2012 and we did it.

If Mourinho was some tactical genius for parking the bus in Madrid where was that touch of genius when Chelsea threw away their slim chance of winning the Premier League at home to the bottom club.?

Abramovich has sacked managers before for playing dull football as he wants to be entertained so I wonder how long the not-so-special-now one has left.
When he first came to England he was a breath of fresh air but ever since he poked the Barcelona assistant coach in the eye he has become a detestable little runt who cntinues to give Chelsea such a bad name and the club has managed to make itself even more unpopular than Man Utd which does take some doing.

I think they got a good result last night. You have to take much of Mourinho's rambling with a pinch of salt - although it does grate with me when he complains about what comprises his squad, given how much has been spent on it. His recent rant about (effectively) throwing the league game at Liverpool because, bless him, he doesn't have enough players, shows utter contempt for the Premier League.

Yes it's ever since the Villanova incident. No one had guessed he was an arsehole when he was accusing Anders Frisk of cheating or telling lies about paramedics who don't earn anywhere near what he does.

The Anders Frisk incident was a disgrace. Bloke was forced to retire after those nice chaps from Chelsea send him death threats.

On that note I have heard Trevor Brooking, Geoff Hurst and Julian Dicks have also expressed some disdain for the recent actions of Mourinho and co.

and rightly so.

However, will you just relax with your 'impartial view', it's only football, nobody has been murdered in this instance.
