Khul to Man City?

http://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/footb ... fc-7014554 2 mill for a player who has never played for the first team seems like a no brainer doubt there are any players in the first team that would command that sort of transfer fee - maybe McCarthy

Sadly, what kind of message would it send out to potential new owners/investors/sponsors/supporters if we opted for cashing in on our future great prospects?

If we sell him before he's even played for us I will be, lets say, frustrated.

I know the academy also has to pay for itself like everything else at the club. But can they at least get a season with us before disappearing into obscurity?

Anyway, this lad has real talent. We need to try and keep him until his stock is high not sell him early for 2 million.

We're a feeder club. It shouldn't be a surprise...

Then you've got a player who's done a job for you that basically cost you nothing.

I can't see how playing the lad in the first team for the rest of the season, given the injuries we have, will be such a problem for NA.

dont want to sell him at all

Great. So our one shining light, the Academy will feed other teams before ours.

Hooray.

More fool him if he does go there, after all what chance has he got of getting anywhere near their first team? Look what has happened to Jack Rodwell for a cautionary tale (I appreciate he has had injury problems but those notwithstanding he's had very little opportunity to build on the promise he showed at Everton).

Gylfi should be seen as the template for any talent in our academy - season or two in RFC's 1st XI then move directly into the playing squad of an established top flight side.

On the flip side, I remember the wailing and gnashing of teeth when Shaun Allaway was spirited away by Leeds only for his development and career to stall entirely. We might actually benefit more from cashing in on Kuhl now whilst he is a promising talent - that is always the gamble with young players.

With Adkins picking the tea lady to play in an injury-ravaged midfield rather than anyone from our "vital academy", what chance does he have of getting anywhere near ours?
