Believable, higher earner, uncertainty about Anton and ownership, likely to have touted their higher wage earners as "available".

fitness the main concern I guess. Who currently plays LB for Sunderland?

Never going to happen. We already need a left-back, it's highly unlikely we are going to sell the only one we have.

Kelly, Cummings and some academy debutant as LB. Stands by for derision.

wouldn't rule it out he's out of contract in the summer so free to talk to clubs in about 10 days the club paid nothing for him, so if Sunderland come in with a 1 mill bid the club would be mad to say no, 1 mill profit in 4 months. plus he will almost certainly one of the highest earners. Cummings has looked steady in the position with Kelly as back up.

All for this but we should hold out for at least £5 million.

I take it you weren't at the game yesterday? Though, tbf, he's done OK up until that point.

There's plenty of genuine left backs out there - reckon we'll bring someone in on loan for the rest of the season.

Assuming this is a joke yes?

I'd sell him to them for free. Total fcuking waste of money IMO. Glamour signing that clearly just goes to whomever offers the best pay packet. We'd have been better off keeping Ian Harte for another year. At least we would have looked remotely threatening from set pieces - something we massively lack at present.

I hope it's a joke comment! £5m for a 33 year old with six months left on his contract? I'd take £500k!

Never - I would not joke about something so serious. He must be worth at least that with a whole 6 months left on his contract.

Good. Injury-prone and overrated.

So we have a defence that are leaking goals and people are wanting to sell our best defender?? Bridge is the one bit of class we have in the back four and we are missing him badly at the moment.

Ok I admit it I was joking - but to be serious there is absolutely no chance we will let Bridge go as he has been a class act when (and if) fit. And if he is not fit then no one will want him anyway.

I am sure he will see his contract out here. Probably won't get another one though.

This is a classic "lazy journo makes up story" story; it has all the ingredients for there to possibly be some truth in it (used to play for Poyet, still highly regarded in the media) with a convenient get out clause ("Poyet didn't think his fitness issues fully resolved to play a major role in a relegation battle").

However, it is simply rubbish; Poyet doesn't need a crocked, aged left back to give Sunderland a chance of survival - he needs a couple of strikers. I think the Pog is more likely to end up at Sunderland than Wayne Bridge.

A third bridge to Caversham should be more of a priority imo.
