Still, it goes without saying. We live in the 21st century and not in the dark ages. We need to be more open to things like this. Anything that enhances the image of RFC can't be bad can it?

They're nothing to do with us except for trying to use our name to promote themselves. Kwik fit fitters.

RoyalBlue For those who don't know much about women's football, how about making it a double fixture on Sunday.
I think double headers are the way forward, the women's game played at the same venue after the men's game with free attendance for anyone who wants to stay around for it - it's the best way to get the fans into the game, Someone should try it for one game at least - maybe towards the end of the season where pitch wear and tear isn't an issue.

Yup, while we're at it I wonder if Woodley Hammers fancy using the Madejski for a game before one of our home games?

Forum seems to be 'Reading Football Club' and, whether the dinosaurs on here like it or not, Reading FC Women are an official representative team of Reading Football Club funded and supported by Reading Football Club.

In the women's game they are playing at least at the equivalent of the men's team, have mastered the type of fast flowing, passing, entertaining football that Nigel Adkins wants the men's team to play and score a lot more goals!

That's great, what are they cooking for dinner tonight?

The amount of sexism on here astonishes me. I thought we had some people who were actually open to this sort of thing (having a women's team), but obviously there are a lot of mongs on here and you should be ashamed of yourselves.

You are so right and once again one of the Mods displays an amazing amount of arrogance/ignorance.

More ignorance. They are very significantly supported and funded by Reading FC who employ full-time staff to develop the women's game. Were it not for the very significant backing from Reading FC, they would not have satisfied the criteria for WSL2.

As a result of the backing of Reading FC and now playing in WSL2, they were able to significantly strengthen an already very strong squad prior to the start of this season and recruit a big name from women's football as their manager (last season's manager, Kelly Chambers, was unable to continue as manager as she does not yet have the right level UEFA coaching badge but now assists Jane Ludlow.

The club very kindly let the Reading FC Women's Reserve team play their last game of last season (v Brighton) under floodlights on the Mad Stad pitch. There was quite a reasonable attendance given it was the reserve team and the fixture hadn't really been promoted other than on Facebook and Twitter.

Shame we spent the money backing this joke side in a joke sport, could've used it to keep Gylfi at the club.

Fran has already surpassed him! A future women's international football star without any doubt at all. She is an extremely exciting and entertaining player who terrorises defences with her speed, skill and eye for goal.

Meanwhile Lois Roche is a Simon Osborn/Kevin Watson/Darren Caskey style midfielder with great ball control (yes, we'll let the sexist dinosaurs have a chortle at that one)and a fantastic range of passing who can bag quite a few goals herself.

The team are playing Arsenal Ladies Reserves at Tadley Calleva 2pm this Sunday if anyone wants to see a really good game. Some on here would be really surprised at the quality of football on display.

You really are an ignorant bigoted barsteward with a limited knowledge of football aren't you.

As Maffff has already indicated, players from the Reading FC Women's team (and it's quite a significant number) have been good enough to get financed to the tune of $30,000+ per annum to go and play for NCAA teams in the US where the standard of women's football is amongst the highest in the world. They will return with good degrees and student debt free, having had a brilliant life experience training as hard and often as professional male players over here and benefiting from top class facilities. What's more, rather than getting sneered at by sexist dinosaurs, they get stopped and asked for autographs. I suspect many on here would have loved to have had a similar opportunity, I know I would have done.

I'd wager that any of the girls in that team would run circles around you and, at the same time, leave you whining to the ref that the game was too fast and physical for you. And don't even try to plead age in your defence because they would have done the same to you even if had been in your prime.

But, in the meantime, you should just go back to painting pictures on the wall of your cave.

Imho if you ask a woman what she does the answer should always be secretary or nurse not footballer. The only exceptions should be Primary school teacher (secretary and nurse combined) or Page 3 girl.

As for female goalkeepers  .You obviously watch a lot of women's football RB, I'm sure you'll agree that all female keepers are rubbish.
