AZ hasnt got the money, hasnt paid for the 51%, has effectively done a runner and there is something to do with The United States and Money Laundering.

Not from me but fourth or fifth hand from a supposed insider...

Anton: "Daaaad, you know that little footy club which you said you were buying for me near the school that you sent me to? Well, they only went and got promoted and then relegated but we - I mean you - are seen as a saviour and a White Russian by the Mad Man with the ridiculous barnet......"

Boris: "That's nice, son."

Anton: "Well, the thing is, that there's no an expectation that you're going to invest a lot more wood pulp profits in it..... and it's a lovely little club in leafy Berkshire."

Boris: "That's nice, son."

Anton: "I'd I'd really like to build stronger ties to the Royal county as a legacy for Boris Junior...."

Boris: "OK, son, how much do you want?"

Anton: "About GBP 75 million for the next 18 months should do it....."

Boris: "OK, son."

One of my good friends has quite a senior position at the club, and they have told me there is absolutely nothing to worry about. In fact they reckon that as a business, it is being run better than ever with new people in charge, and there are some exciting plans afoot for the club. Not being one to lie, I trust their judgement.

His absence may be due to the fact that he has only recently become a father and that, heaven forbid, may actually be more important than a football club.

They're right though to be fair. We've got a squad that's better than the last time we were in this division, plus we've made our best start to a season in 5 years. We're unbeaten at home this season without really setting the world alight. If we can turn some of the home draws into wins at home and the away losses to draws, we'll be in a good position.

As a business it appears that we're really trying to engage with the fan base, look at the recent Open Day for an example. We've got the highest amount of STH's we've had in this division I believe too. People are getting bogged down with the fact that Anton is the owner and there is a lack of transparency, whereas in reality it's never the owner that actually runs the club.

I'm sure most of you will look back at some point and say its a fuss about nothing.

Another factor to consider is that his wife is now no longer pregnant ....

moonwalklikebas I disagree.

I think speculation after speculation after speculation from fans only fuels the fire that 'there is something wrong'

There may well be something drastically wrong but on the other hand you have to look at is a business. In business, deadlines get missed, payment terms get missed (A lot) lets not be blindsighted that in the current climate the business comes first and the fans second. Its not ideal but that's the way most clubs operate now.

+1
Repeatedly saying crap like this on the internet will only convince people that it's true.. Nothing was wrong with the club till someone said there was! It's no surprise that the "Drenthe wants out" rumours followed this and in some people cases strengthen it.. Bullshit begets bullshit and suddenly all the troll rumours add together to form something "we would have to be blind not to see"

Swear most of the conspiracies here come about because Anton is Russian. Load of xenophobic bullshit, same as we get from the media.

I think most of the conspiracies on here come about from Anton disappearing off the face of the earth without so much as a micro-statement.

Being a new father doesn't stop somebody speaking on the phone to an aid for 30 seconds, "everything is fine, the buyout will still go ahead, and I am not looking to sell to anyone else".

The fact that incredibly easy attempt at reassuring the fans has not been made, is why so much bullshit can be generated.

The thought he might prove to be unreliable, that his Everton bid fell through, who is Samuelson, what type of success he has had as a businessman, that he might not have the money if daddy doesn't bankroll him, etc?

These questions have all been unequivocally answered

The one fact we do know for definite that he is a Russian, don't see anyone debating that

Is he though? Have we seen a birth certificate? Has anyone actually heard him speak Russian? Why haven't the club commented on this?

The way I read the reports after the birth, the baby was born here and they went back to Russia a week or so later - never to be seen or heard from again. Now they may have decided they want to bring the little one up in Russia, surrounded by family - but if AZ thinks this won't impact on his "business" then he's a little naive. I presume everyone has to ring him up/email him/skype him or whatever, to find out what he wants to do about x, y and z? Or are they acting as if he doesn't exist?

How hard is it for him to come over for a week every couple of months or whatever, to sort out his business here, if he seriously wants to stay in Russia?

Yeah, they need to e-mail and skype him constantly because its not like we have a board of directors and a Chief Executive to make 99.99% of the decisions.
