USA_Loyal_Royal there is no way that alfie would leave reading fc to take a step down and play in the mls. he would take a pay cut and be playing in a worse league. if anything he will leave us for a premier league team (if at all).

Really? Le Fondre is no way premier league standard! Championship at best.

SydenhamRoyal No, but it is the perfect picture if you want to discuss Noel Hunt

I was thinking the same thing. Noel told me before last season that he'd declined an MLS offer (as Reading were newly promoted.) He doesn't appear to have settled in well at Leeds and Houston runs a 442 - seems like it'd be a good opportunity for him to play in a starting role for another several years.

Player with a record of goals at any level. Given some of the desperate shite PL teams have signed in the past, what on earth makes you think that a PL team wouldn't be interested in a guy who scored 12 goals at that level mainly off the bench?

tmesis On the other hand, Houston is ridiculously hot and humid, and I can't imagine English players thriving in that sort of environment.

Is it not a dry heat?

Houston is on the Gulf of Mexico - nothing dry about it. MLS plays over the summer too - the heat index is pretty relentless there. It's not exactly the garden spot of Texas.
