The key word in all of this is speculation.

Contracts exchanged for land purchase
Reading Football Club are pleased to announce that, on Friday 11th October 2013, we exchanged contracts with the Royal Merchant Navy School Foundation (www.rmnef.org.uk) for the purchase of nearly 120 acres of land in Wokingham for the club’s new training ground.

The site at Bearwood Estate will be the new home for both our first team and Academy, and plans have already been drawn up for 15 pitches on site, with purpose-built indoor facilities. The conditional contract will be finalised on the receipt of planning permission, and a full planning request will be submitted to Wokingham Borough Council in the near future.

We have been at our current Hogwood Park facility since 2004, and with the natural evolution of the club and our investment in the new EPPP structure for elite Academies, a new training ground is seen as a hugely positive step in the right direction.

The Club would like to thank the Foundation, and in particular Secretary Charles Heron-Watson, for their professionalism and assistance in getting the process to this stage. Both parties believe this is a very positive step for the club, the Foundation, our Academy and indeed the local community.

The Foundation said, ‘this sale will form a major part of the Trustees’ strategic decision to realise their substantial land holding by providing the funds necessary to focus on the Foundation’s charitable work, which is supporting the education of their beneficiaries in particular by helping them obtain employment.’

Damn you Anton, buying us land.

Maybe that will shut up those who think the club is in dire straits.

But they have only exchanged contracts. May have paid a relatively small deposit but as the purchase is dependent on planning consent probably not.
Either way it proves nothing.

its certainly evidence towards proving something though
as opposed to pure speculation and hearsay proving nothing.......

In order to exchange contracts you have to have proof of available funds.

To buy the club TSI had to come up with proof of funds but so far have not actually paid up in full apparently

Its a bit late, its a deal for millions, he has paid most of it, why are you crying about it?

He has got us great players, promoted to the prem once, kept hold of our great players, got us academy one now exchanging contracts on new training ground.

Yet you seem determined to stab the guy in the back.

When you factor in all the various legal/consultancy costs involved in the submission of plans of this scale it means a fair amount. Plenty of time and money will already have gone into this to get it at this stage. There's no way the club would have undertaken these costs unless the intention was to proceed and the funds were there to do so.

Because we're all SCUMBAGS.....SCUMBAGS who are inferior to the minority of passive-aggressive sycophants who would bum or be bummed by Anton Zingarevich if the opportunity allowed.

Because it's a Private Ltd Co and therefore the financial dealings are none of our business. A brief statement to the effect that both parties are relaxed with an extension to the deadline should have been sufficient.

Some of us are definitely SCUMBAGS though.
