Whats wrong with that? He's been pretty much awful for us, not remotely good enough. Perhaps we might even be able to bring someone of superior quality in ourselves.

I wouldn't bank on anyone coming in but it means more money saved. I really hope I am wrong.

Maybe Anton has lost interest in his football club and is now more interested in his (ice) hockey club.

Brian's last transfer window turning out to be a bit of a disaster....first Carrico packs his bags, now Akpan going through the swing door....how long have Blackman & Kelly got for the clean sweep ??

Am I missing something here? What's the problem with sending a young guy out on loan to get some first team experience? Especially when that guy plays in a position where we have a decent amount of cover which is about to be added to by Ledge's return?

I think you are also forgetting the previous one ... the Pog, Guthrie, who didnt get a run until McD left. Mariappa, who has left, McCleary who never gets much of a run, and Gunter.

And this one ... Williams, who played well against Ipswich, Drenthe, undoubtedly talented but a big but over everything else.

Thank oxf*rd for Bridge.

This. People still creaming themselves over one pass he made against Chelsea. Done nothing of note since.

Players need games and a good run in a team to prove themselves.

Akpan has not had this opportunity to date due to the manager change at RFC and the summer midfield signing of Williams and Drenthe.

A loan move will allow hIm to play football.

A lot of us saw him as one of the shining players in our relegation 'fight'. He'd come on and change the game with his power and vision. I wouldn't say he has been awful at all and would love to see him have a chance at this level.

Plus we have a grand total of zero natural AMs at the moment. Sure we're using wingers like Drenthe and Jobi there at the moment but they're not natural AMs.

I suspect your post is sarcastic so whoosh for me for continuing, but just in case it's not, you may have noticed that there is more chance of the Syrians kissing and making up than us bringing in *anyone* any time soon, considering we can't even get a striker or CB in which are more pressing.

It's a real shame he's going, I agree with drew.

But having said that he does need to be playing so as long as we can recall him it's no biggie.

Kelly has got to be our best RB at the moment and needs to start.

The chances of this happening are "very slim" according to the Crawley boss:
