They were still on the oxf*rd beach in Dubai, so I thought I'd get back in the warm.

Drove in today. Glad I did as left 10 mins early and was home by 5.10. Busses don't normally leave until then. Pizza ordered watching Englad hammer the French. ( just scored a try)

11 minutes early. That shower of shit performance and that freezing fcuking weather didn't deserve a minute more.

The one thing that is certain to make me leave early is freezing my balls off watching highly paid professional footballers failing to put in a decent shift. We have to accept that more often than not our players won't be as talented as their opponents but we should not have to accept lack of effort and fight.

Added to that we had some incredible stupidity shown by very experienced players e.g. Harte pissing around with the ball when there are just seconds of the half remaining and we for once needed to go direct (it was that which ended up putting Morrison in the position where he cocked up) and Pog's frustrated but nevertheless stupid challenge.

I left about 5 minutes early but today was the first time I have done so. My friends and I were saying that if people want to leave early, fine. They've paid to get in after all so it's their choice really. I am usually annoyed to see people leaving at like 1-1, 2-1 etc but today was a joke. Hopefully the players took note that the fans weren't impressed. It must be pretty shameful to see your own fans filing out with 15 minutes to go.

As discussed on here since whenever, people's main issue with fans leaving early;

1 Staying to the end makes a person a better supporter. One arguement for this is staying to the end of a film.

Reply : Better supporter? Bollocks. Who can tell who the other has invested in the club in other ways(financial or other).
The reply for 'do you stay to the end of a film is simple to. Do you stay to the very end of the credits every time?

2. Who can say where another person lives or if they have work requrements? (Bit dodgy this one I know!)

3. We are in a free country (allegedly, or so I've been allegedly told.) Let someone leave at, let's say 89 minutes and if he misses a goal, he's missed a goal! The Earth is still spinning you know!

4. By leaving early it is a sign of saying to the team 'you let me down'

5. Is there a similar discusiion for arriving /half time / returning at half time / taking a piss / orderding a pint?

6. Despite some of the more silly comments on here, this does happen at every stadium in the world - Old Trafford, Anfield, Nou Camp included and if you don't believe that, you are very niave.

7. If it is the plastic supporters who are the majority of 'early leavers' so what? The Mad Stad would be half empty at all times wihout them. ('Half empty' is just an easy and rhetoical term to use before I get bombarded with that one)i

Come on folks let everyone leave when they want. Does it really matter?

I think I've posted similar before but....

Absolutely no issue with people leaving early, but those people should take in good humour however various comments on here when they leave early and miss game-changing goals.

I am absolutely positive that there are people on this thread who have seen us a) beat Arsenal 4-2, b) lose 2-0 to West Brom and c) lose 2-0 to Chelsea. That those people exist is, to me, quite funny in retrospect.

So do as you please, leave as early as you wish, but take the stick in good grace.

I try to get down the stairs as quick as possible and crouch so as to not obstruct anyone's view.

As for getting in the way, exactly the same thing applies to those going early for their half-time refreshments.

Sat to the bitter (and it really was bitter) end today, waited for everyone else to leave and still made it back to the station in record time.
