howser There are only possibly three reasons why the "record deal" could not come to fruition:-
1. Player did not fancy a relegation fight
2. We would not pay the parent clubs valuation
3. We would not meet the players financial demands
wonder which of those 2, sorry 3, that it was that couldn't be overcome

This is the guy who engineered his transfer to Anzhi just a year into a new 4.5 year deal at Blackburn - denying that move was for money he said Anzhi matched his 'ambition' before moving to a team seemingly destined for relegation into the Championship, just a year later.
He'll be gone if they go down, and QPR won't recoup £12m for him as a Championship club.
