If the guy shines at the ANC..Reading stand no chance of getting him....if the scouts have done their job properly they should know if he is what Reading are after....

That doesn't seem to have bothered Celtic when they signed Rogic, they just made the contract dependant on the work permit.

Pogrebnyak was announced subject to a work permit too, exactly the same as Rogic at Celtic

Yeah, but it won't be as much of a let down. "We've signed some Aussie bloke that if we are lucky might just cut it at this level - dependent on a work permit'. Now, everyone thinks this is essentially a done deal.
How would you feel if we said 'We've signed this Zambian international who is one of the best players in Africa - that is if we get a permit' We all go ecstatic and then a few days later they go "well, err, this is awkward, but we can't sign him'

I would just love to see HNA? go into meltdown if that happened.

There was also the massive delay when all the bullshit about an injury nearly put HNA into meltdown. It's in that phase, so why worry.

As an established international about to play again in the African Nations, he will be granted a work permit, so the scenario you portray just wouldn't happen. Far more likely that the club buggering around and delaying completing the deal will once again result in us losing a transfer target and we will feel extremely let down by that.
