Avon Royal The problem is not with the players - they are trying their best in a terrible system. What they need is some confidence and belief.

Nobody honestly believes in Brian anymore, why would the players be any different?

players not really good enough to play the other system

Thye've got this far in their careers without being able to pass a football?

There's hope for me yet!

I appreciate the fans not wanting to turn on Brian, but this chant deservedly needs an airing Monday when we're 5-0 down.

All our players are fit to wear the hoops. "The hoops" don't have a long history of only being worn by mid-table top flight sides. Right now Reading are a very good Championship side. This season is a bonus in the Premier League. The players are fit to wear the hoops because they performed like a very good Championship side last season.

It is always someone else's fault but when are the supporters going to do what they should?

Get behind the team and make as much noise as possible. Perhaps the chant should be "We're not fit to support the hoops".

You need to stick your cock in the ground and do a reality check here, our players are championship material, and as usual when a championship side plays a premier league side, surprise surprise, they lose!!

I just stuck my cock in the ground and I am not enjoying it very much. Do you think I should wet the ground and try to make it into mud and try it again?
Thank you for getting back to me at your earliest convenience,

Respectfully yours,

Schards#2 Oh do fukk off.

Our squad is the worst in the division and, surprise, surprise, we are struggling. That does not mean the players aren't fit to wear the hoops, it means they are out of their depth. These are the same players who won the league last season despite being far from the best squad on paper in that division too. I'll reserve my "your not fit to wear the hoops" chants for when I feel we players are not even trying and I don't see that at all at the moment.

We've had two titles and many more highs than lows in the past decade but this season we are out of our depth. I would rather fans just accepted that and sucked it up rather than pilloring players and staff that have performed miracles in recent seasons.

We should not just accept it!
We pay good money for our season tickets and expect very much better. If you think we should just accept it, you might as well just pass on renewing your season tickets next season and listen to the match on the radio instead and be a warmer happpier supporter.
I pay for 2 season tickets every year to watch my team win and do well, not to turn up for freezing cold matches and feel miserable and depressed.

In that case my I suggest a few things:
1. Move somewhere warmer
2. Buy tickets for Barcelona, they seem to win every week
3. Go see a psychologist in order to overcome your depression and feelings of misery

Also, next year we'll be winning a whole lot more matches in the championship, you should be happy then.
Anyhow, being a supporter isn't a one-way street where you only support your team if they win.
And if that is what you think it is, then you sure as hell picked the wrong team! The rest of us are dealing very well with being supporters of a smallish team who don't always win.

I don't expect them to win, I expect them to go out and play like a team who want to win and show some pride and desire, if they do that and lose that's fine with me, but certainly haven't done that lately. I support Reading because I live in Reading, if I just wanted to support a football team I would be a Man U fan just like all their other supporters who've never been to old trafford

I can't believe so many people like you are just happy to expect this level of quality. I've only been a season ticket holder for a few years so I haven't yet got round to the "reading way" of thinking that "we're shit, but sometimes we get lucky and do well for a while".
Why are you supporting a "business" that just wants your money and gives you nothing back. At the moment, to the people in charge of the club, we the supporters mean nothing at all because we don't seem to give a shit and are happy and content with the "Reading Way"
Obviously "supporting" a team has a different meaning to me than it does for you.

"You're never as good as they say you are, and never as bad either".

We were not the best team to win the Championship in recent seasons. We'll have to over-achieve even more to stay up.

My suggestion is this. Don't get "miserable and depressed' when they do badly. It's only football.

It seems to me that the players and staff put a lot more effort into being good at what they do than many of the supporters whose idea of 'good support' is ill-informed and cliche'd drivel, delivered in a whinging manner.

Good support is unconditional, and strengthens when times are bad. If you invaded the pitch and cheered them home last season, then remember what pleasure they gave you then and give it back to them now that they need it. The only way to survive is to stand firm - them as players, us as supporters.

What's going to motivate a player? Heckles, boos and dumb chants, or roars and cheers for the good they do (even in defeat)?

If you can't manage that, go and watch telly instead, gutless slime ball that you are.
