I've actually seen the short list.

It's got Jay Tabb on it.

gazzer, loyal royal he gave McDermott a list in january of players he would bankroll if McDermott wanted them. I'm pretty sure this'll be the same scenario

He also gave him a list in May but McDermott and Hammond suggested this wasn't welcome - re: BM at a fans forum.

Now there appears to be another list, I wonder if Anton has questioned our new signings and told him these are players I want and will try and get for you, and you like it or lump it?

Maybe... just maybe it's the club's fricking list put together by Steve Shorey and co.

it looks like Anton wanted to sign certain players in the summer and was told thats not the "Reading way" and now hes had enough of sh*t everyweek and is going to take matters into his hand. Who could blame him, Would any good businessman watch their recent investment go down the drain!

No good businessman would ever see a football club as an "investment".

akranes So it is circulating around the press now, that Anton has a shortlist of 10 players, who we are looking at signing.

Robert Codner
Kenny Brown
Darren McDonald
David Byrne
Steve Morrow
John Humphrey
Ray Wallace
Eric Groeleken
Dennis Lota
Lubomir Blaha

On BBCRB, Dellor asked McD about this list and he said he'd told AZ not to speak to the press about such stuff and it was disrespectful to the players already here. So, it doesn't seem that McD is too happy about AZ interfering and it certainly doesn't look like Steve Shorey is scouting them on anyone's say-so except AZ.

Only by buying a little club with a crappy ground and and making it into a big club.

But having said that, if you believe the sum that he apparently sold Reading for, then no it didn't - he still made a loss overall.

According to a Bolton supporting mate of mine we've been watching Stuart Holden. Good player but has had his fair share of injuries.

Because we weren't rumoured to be interested in Defoe and we didn't sign Pogrebnyak did we... Pog wasn't Anton's signing, he was McDermott's idea and Anton just made it possible.

Anton obviously wants to play and be involved, but I don't believe for a second we'll be tracking anyone McDermott wouldn't want here himself.

Has anyone considered that there's a difference between having a shortlist of 10 players and signing 10 players? I'd expect us to be monitoring two or three players at least for every one signing we want to make.
