Well they say everyone has their achilles heel, or whatever it might be called. England games certainly bring the worst out of you.

Rooney is doing fine, Ukraine are making a game of it that's all.

Rooney's movement is good, but he has the touch of a Ched Evans at the moment.

Royal Rother You disagree?

Yes, he isn't 'having a shocker' he just missed a chance. It happens. He's not losing possession, and his movement is good, playing deeper than Welbeck and often Young).

His passing has been a bit loose, he's walked into a few too many challenges and he's missed a gilt edged chance. At best he's mediocre by his standards. But then he's not played a competitive match for a while compared to the others.

No they aren't.

Support for Ukraine is great, the roof will struggle to hold itself down if they score.

Royal Rother Rooney in having-a-shocker shocker.

Oh be quiet. Thrown in for his first game in weeks and he lacking (not surprisingly) a bit of a match touch.

After the quiet first couple of games, Rooney's back and everyone (well, the media) is expecting a stroll in the park. It's the co-hosts in their second city and we're not as good as our world ranking suggests.

If you or anyone else really thought we'd turn into tournament favourites over night then you're sorely, sorely deluded.

England are so unbelievably dull tonight. Are they holding out fore the bore draw to guarantee a QF place or are they genuinely lacking any skill?

No excuses permitted. Rooney has been absolutely appalling.
