blindedbythelights "People at Arsenal tried to make out that I came here for the money," Nasri told French TV station TF1. "I hope they are watching me now collecting my Premier League winner's medal.

"I believe they have not won a trophy for many seasons now. If all that I was interested in was money, the easiest decision would have been to stay at Arsenal, picking up my money every week and walking into the team.

"There are many people doing this right now at Arsenal. I made the hard choice to come and fight for my place at a big club, where they never settle for second best, and I have proved it correct.

"I now hope the Arsenal fans can get on with their lives and forget me, they should celebrate their third-place achievement and I will focus on winning titles."

This. You've got a team who've won nothing for 44 years but are throwing money around compared to the team that has won almost everything for the past 20 years. It's a no-brainer if you're after medals.

Moaning? - i was laughing at him having to justify joining City cos they are a "big club" and not cos of the money. At the beginning of the season, you have the chance to join the biggest club in the world (Man Utd) but the fact that City offered him treble his wages is truly what swayed him, why can't he just say "yeah, they offered me shit loads of money, what fool would turn that down"

Are you on simpleton-mode or Kes-mode?

Either way, what he's subsequently done is irrelevant. No-one is fooled by the claim he went to City because that was the best place to win stuff. Apart from you, apparently.

Ok, there's two simpletons. United were goal difference away from winning that title despite having ridiculous injury problems and no midfield to speak of until a 36 year came out of retirement.

How much did United bid for him last summer cmonureds?

City had won the FA Cup (a good starting block for continued success) the season before he joined and Arsenal had won nothing just like they'd won nothing the year before that and the year before that and the year before that etc. On top of that he watches the club captain walk out the door showing the scale of Arsenal's ambition in glaring obviousness.

So with all that Man City are showing real ambition as a club having won a trophy the season before and are trying to build by signing one of the top strikers in Europe in Kun Aguero and the fact his mate Clichy has just moved there as well.

Would you not agree that with the funds available to City and given the policy at Arsenal over the last 7 years that maybe, just maybe, City might be an option for winning tophies? Like you say no brainer.

Yes, now! but back in August if Utd had offered him more money than City would he have still chose City as they are the bigger club? despite Utd winning the title last season.

Not saying he shouldn't have left Arsenal but claiming he didn't go cos of the money is just to kid himself to believe that.
