Royal Rother
Cobi
Snowball Last season it was close between Feds and McCarthy but Feds edged it.

McCarthy will have improved but Feds is twice as good as 18 months ago

and right now, easily the best keeper we have

I disagree. Feds hasn't really improved as such, he's just become more reliable and also confident.

Hmm, confidence and reliability - key attributes of a 'keeper and he has improved on them, yes?

I was going to say exactly this. He had some excellent performances and some shocking errors last season and prior.

Now he just has the good games. It's all about being reliable as a GK.

Federici needed to pushed, he has been by McCarthey and boy has he improved.

Great season for Fed, best keeper in the championship this season with Robert Green (West Ham)close on his heels.

RG30 Football League player of the month for Feb

Jason Roberts just tweeted congratulations for feds and mcdermott winning the player and manager of the month. He has since deleted the tweet, guess the club didnt want it to ruin the official anouncement tomorrow.

Much deserved though. By far the bet keeper outside the premier league!

it doesn't need announcing, it was always going to be those two. you couldn't possibly win all your games in the month and not concede (or did we concede one in the month of feb? - i can't remember if it was march...) and not get the award. lets hope we carry on the good form with a win against leicester in front of a near sell out on saturday.

Adam Federici - Rated as the best keeper in the league

by LoyalRoyalFan » 08 Apr 2012 20:28

According to the Actim Stats that is.

My past criticism of him looks quite silly now. 'sandman' will be having a good laugh

And to think that he was an absolute donkey until Gorkks paired up with Pearce in front of him.

Fair play to Feds proving his doubters wrong this season. Added consistency, reliability and confidence to the ability he always had. Always capable of great games and great saves, but now he's doing the business every week and is definitely now the best keeper in this league IMO. Not that he'd shown that when this thread started in September.

Best and most complete season he has had since joining the club. Top class keeper. Got to be close for player off the season

He is better apparently! About time we embarrass a few people with their mid season comments about him.

Alan Partridge
Royal Rother Adie Williams, who probably knows a thing or 2 about goalkeepers, believes Federici is the best goalkeeper in this country outside the Premier League.

Yes Adie being a well respected goalkeeper himself.

Agree with BF, not the best keeper at the club and absolutely nowhere near the best in the league.

LOL for starters

johnnym he's a good keeper (comparedto say Whitehead, Howie or Shepperd) but oxf*rd me he's no where near top Championship keeper. Got to be Rob Green, whoc may have the odd howler under his belt but has been imo consistently excellent.

he reminds me of the guy that kept wicket for our school team....he would take every opportunity to get 3 or 4 rolls into a routine catch/stop.

i would agree that he's not the best keeper at the club, that is clearly McCarthy.

FiNeRaIn
Royal Rother With a combined 50 years involved in football as player, scout, coach and manager I think I'd probably have to side with BM and AW over you and BF on this one.

Agreed. We saw Mccarthy's weaknesses at Charlton. I love how a lot of this board believe he'll come in and be a better choice.

Whereas Federici has shown us his weaknesses every game this season.
