Lionel Messi becomes the first player to score 5 goals in a Champions League match, Barca thrashed Leverkusen 7-0 at Camp Nou.

48 goals in 42 games this season, including 7 hat-tricks.

I thought Leverkusen were very poor last night. Barca did not need to get out of second gear. Messi's first and third goals were outrageous. I knew he was going to score but had no idea in which manner. Proves that you don't need to burst the net to score. Great goal by the Germans at the end of the game though. Roll on the end of March 8)

Indeed, was very happy when they won the shoot-out.

Poor and oh so rattLOLed...Comparisons need to be like-for-like, Kes. Messi/Torres is a valid comparison because they've actually, well you know, both played in top flight football and in the Champions League. The three amigos you've dredged up haven't played in the greatest competition on Earth and two of them haven't played Premier League.

FaiLOLed.

‘Debate’ of sorts on the BBC website – is Messi the greatest player of all time (or becoming so)? He’s certainly the best player I have seen in my lifetime, never thought I’d see another player as skilful as Maradona, tbh, but Messi makes him look amateur, he is a genius. And still only 24.

Definitely rattLOLed. It is like for like. Reading compete in the English League, therefor they have a chance to gain promotion and a chance to play in the CL. But they haven't.
