TBM Matts Mills v Swansea - Play off final
Really wish he didn't get my hopes up when i had already conceded defeat by half time.

Agent Balti As I didn't drive at the time, I went on the coach. IIRC, I remember belting it out of St. Andrews towards the coaches which seemed to be parked miles away across a gravel car park (could be wrong, but that's how I remember it.) Some the coach was about a third full or so when a guy got on the coach with his head covered in blood. Can't recall if he was stoned (not in the 'off his tits' sense) or pounced upon but he was a mess.
Then, we leaving Brum, a car tried to ram the coach! Hmm...car vs bus...who'd win?! Then the plod turned up with a couple of bikes and quite possibly a jam sandwich or two to end proceedings.
I did think at the time when gilkesy was running towards us with the keeper to beat - "Go on, my son...oh fcuk...he's scored...RUUUUN!!!"

1871 Royal I never, ever, ever bet on Reading. Tis the golden rule surely. So no goal has ever let me down in the regards.
So I can't really think of a goal I wish we hadn't scored, that I have seen.

Jerry St Clair James Lambert v Grimsby - New Years Eve 1994
Losing 1-0 at home in the 85th minute when Simon Osborn gets the ball on the edge of the penalty area and slips it through to James Lambert who scores a great goal.
There's a famous Southbank surge tempered by a group of players immediately gathering round Osborn lying on the edge of the box. He'd been scythed down after playing the ball and is eventually stretchered off with knee ligament damage and misses the next four months of the season. The bloke next to me loudly protested that he'd rather have lost the game and kept Osborn fit. He was right. We lost 7 out of 15 games whilst Osborn was out, whilst winning 6 out of 10 after his return (the only loss being the play off final against Bolton).
I'm convinced we'd have pipped Middlesbrough to the title if Osborn hadn't got injured in that Grimsby game.

Agree with every word of that.

Terminal Boardom Trevor Senior's stupidly late winner v Barry Town in the FA Cup back in 1984. Complete and total carnage as soon as that went in. Without doubt, the most horrible experience I have ever had at a Reading game.

I don't think I can recall a more intimidating atmosphere at any other match I've ever been to, and there couldn't have been more than 4,000 in the ground that day, but it was definitely a goal that was wildly celebrated, and one that clinched the second of three wins over the border that season. And it was in the fourth round of the cup that season that Chalky scored that late winner against Bristol Rovers, one of the best goals I ever saw at Elm Park. Thanks for reminding me of some happy times!

That Mark White goal was ina League game. I remember it well as some Pirate hit me in face as a consequence of it on the way out the ground. Not hard enough to make me wish we hadn't scored it though.

Presumably whilst they were running the South Bank - never seen it empty so quickly!
{fab diving header from Mark White if I've remembered that one correctly}

Franchise FC There's a long list
Martin Hicks - away at Huddersfield, home to Darlington to name a couple
Trevor Senior - home to Darlington on the same day as above
Steve Death - away at Huddersfield
Stewart Henderson - home to Brentford and breaking the sequence without conceding a goal
Steve Richardson - away at Brentford, away at Barnsley (or was it Rotherham - we were 2-0 up when we arrived at the ground and lost 5-2)
Stuart Morgan and Barry Wagstaffe - home to Arsenal
I'm sure I can get a few more if I think about it
