I don't believe that there can be a single other player in the division that can both run AND tackle a lot. It's incredible.

Karacan would usually be in my top 5 over the course of the season, but I don't think he's been as good this year as last (hence getting dropped earlier on). I'd agree our contenders should mainly be defenders / Fed, though I'd chuck McAnuff & Kebe into the mix around the same level as Karacan. And ALF if he can start getting games again and scoring / assisting.

That's some 'if' there....

Agree based on McDermott's apparent preferences. Though IMO if he gets the games he'll produce the goods.

Odd game yesterday. At half time I turned to my uncle and said, "How are we winning this 2-0".

It didn't seem like we created a great deal but we did look fairly comfortable, especially in the first half. Don't remember Feds having a shot to save in the first half.

2nd half was a bit more frustrating, but they came out and had nothing to lose and Feds pulled off 3 world class saves to keep us in the game.

I guess its sign of a good team to win yet still not play that well.

First game I have seen of the new boys. Roberts looked ok, probably had an off game but think he will get better with match fitness. Cywka looked very good when he came on and was very impressed, wouldn't mind seeing him start against his old side on Tuesday, maybe having a point to prove? Connelly looked solid, good debut, look forward to future games with him.

MOTM - Feds, for saving the game in the second half. First save was exceptional.

as for the match, pretty poor. never really got out of second gear, and couldnt string two passes together for the first twenty, but still miles better than coventry whos only efforts came from long range in 2nd half.
kebes goal was class, from connollys pass to roberts, his back heel roll, and kebes pace and finish.
could have scored alot more in 2nd half with church missing the easiest of the lot.

fed- 8 nothing to do till 2nd half, where he pulled off 3 great saves from nothing
connolly- 7 slow start, but grew and grew, should have had that goal which roberts nicked, and showed some really nice long passing to feet
pearce/gorks 8- rocklike
harte- 8 solid at the back, brilliant set piece delivery- much better from him
karacan - 8- a tiny turkish demon
ledge- 7 tired early, and slightly off pace, but still played ok
kebe-7 unplayable, and at his best first half- tired early after being out for a while
mills-7 started badly with nothing coming off, but grew into it, and was superb in 2nd half
nhunt-6 - ran around, got the odd header
roberts-7 not much from him except nicking connolys goal

cywka- 8 great 15 minute cameo, looks strong, skillfull, got a trick,and a good delivery, can go past people, and happy to track back and work for the ball.want to see more of him please

He always looks as though he is running on the spot and treading water.

He looks like his legs are moving really fast, but he makes up no ground on the centre half.

I think most if not all of our forwards would beat him in a race. Pearce would probably too.

What complete and utter rubbish! OK, fine, so you don't rate Church but don't tell blatant lies! Or perhaps you'd gone for a pee when Chruch started some way behind one of their centre halves and got ahead of him.

Do you honestly believe that Church is quick???? He's not. If he was he would be a half decent player.

North-East corner? As I've just posted on the 'Why do people go to games' thread, Saturday was by far the worst of the lot. I know they have to sit somewhere, but this week they just made it impossible to get into the game. As someone else pointed out, there's a big difference between kids of 6/7 who go to games and kids who are 9/10 - these were at the younger end and their complete lack of interest in the game showed. I don't care if they're not bothered, but it was bloody annoying that they made it frustrating for those who paid money to go and actually watch a match. BOOOOO children BOOOOO.

I wouldn't want to see that line up again - better sides, or a Feds off day, will be our undoing. Odd selection really, against a side with two stand in full backs McD opts to field behind Kebe a centre back who while clearly capable (he can pick a pass can't he?) was never going to run the overlap and another full back in front of Harte on the other side.

Much of our attacking threat was negated before we started. Cywka clearly has something about him and if McAnuff is still unfit I'd like to see him start against his old club.

Yet another poor and uninspiring performance at home which makes it just one of a long line of forgettable victories for me. The resilliance of this team, and it's ability to turn poor performances into great wins, is something to be proud of, albeit at the same time really not liking watching them.

Federici had a blinder, with a couple of nice camera saves added in, which says it all.

Think that was probably the one that springs to my mind too, at least for 45 minutes anyway.

I don't expect us to dominate or play well for 90 minutes every week but I can't recall many games this season where I've come away thinking we've played well (not just the result or defending resolutely and making the most of a limited number of chances at the other end) and I've enjoyed the performance.

It makes our position even more surprising.

One other point, which I don't think I've seen mentioned, has anyone taking the piss out of McDermott for playing Harte and Mills together?

When Dellor suggested it a while back some of the experts on here (and McDermott himself to be fair) laughed the idea off as some wacky no-hope solution.

was a strange game- think lucky is over stating it, a couple of long range efforts was all they had.
agree on the selection being odd, but dictated by alot of late injuries

hoping this next glut of games can get us into some form, cos if we start to actually hit our stride then we could be unstoppable imo
