PLEASE can we never let McAnuff take a free kick ever again. He must've had at least 50 shots from them since we signed him and he hasn't scored one. Let Gorkks or Hunt or Griffin take it instead.

Fox Talbot
Maguire
Fox Talbot Hunt v Barnsley - cost 2 points
Harte v Barnsley - cost the same 2 points

We lost 2-1 though, so surely they just cost us a point? :?

Matter of opinion I suppose. If we'd scored one of those I thought we would have gone on to win.

Perhaps, but as it stands an extra goal would've got us one more point. That's the fact.

It was right in front of where we sit and, although I was exiting the toilet at the time, everyone said it was a terrible dive.

Which, given the subsequent evidence, should cause you to doubt anything else they tell you in future!

Well no, unless you've seen a camera angle which is better than sitting right in front of the incident as the players run toward you.

Main camera angle told us nothing.

2nd pen was stonewall - not a dive at all. The fact Derek McInnes didn't even dispute it this morning on goals on Sunday says a lot as well. I've seen it a few times now & Cwyka gets absolutely clattered.

McInnes was fooking miles away from the incident. If half a dozen partisan Reading fans sat 20yds from it are actually laughing at how bad a dive it was then I'll take that over whatever people watch on iPlayer.

He didn't get "clattered" at all, shoulder contact and woops, down he went.

Have you seen the replay?

If so, how can you still be arguing this point. When running at full pelt, and some guy comes in and barges you in the back, you fall over. In no way could that possibly be described as a dive.

Yes, I've seen the replay. I'd never have gone down under a little nudge like that. Bought it.

Well I bow to your physical superiority, but given Cywka looks like a light breeze could knock him over I don't think it was a dive.

Fair enough. Didn't look like it to me on the tv at the time either but i was swayed by primary evidence from a number of people.

Anyways, it was given, missed, and that's that.

And if we'd scored both missed pens we'd have 2 extra points on that basis.

So each one was worth an extra point, not two!

Royal Lady Why are people getting so excited that we're 4th? We won't be 4th after Tuesday night - it's only because most other teams around us were playing in the second round of the FA cup yesterday.

We have the points in the bag. The other teams have to win to catch us up - and it's unlikley that they all will.

Having points >>>>>>> having games in hand.

8.5 The Bristol City side average

Thought they were good enough for top six and unlucky to lose. Better than Hull

8 CRXWZXYA (or whoever) Very little time but made one great ball from the RB position, one great "skin" of a defender, and made a penalty. V Promising

CRXWZXYA...??? Do you really think that because you have posted so regularly on here that it gives you the right to be so patronising..? you complete w*nker!!

At which point all intelligent life seeks to break out of the discussion with you. You didn't see it live and now you have seen it on tv replay you are happy to side with some negative twits who sit near you? For that reason I am out.

Jeez, are things not right at home or something?

I saw it on the TV in the lobby, yes. I'm merely conveying to the board that everyone who sits around me, all right next to the incident, all big Reading fans, all prone to disagreeing with each other about everything, all laughed at how poor a penalty decision it was. That was in response the original poster who said he'd heard people say it was a dive.

You can be as rude about people as you want, but I guess I feel the same way about divs who sit in the West Stand and can't accept people may have views (in both senses) that differ from their own.

Not wearing knickers mate. To me a 6/10 is a below average performance. We could debate all night what constitutes an average performance in regards to a marking system out of ten points but quite frankly I have better things to do. Personally, 6/10 is a poor mark. Sorry if you don't agree.

You failed Maths didn't you?

By any measure of scoring the middle score is an average performance. That makes 5 a low average and 6 a high average. Just this once a justified - End of.

Wrong, and it has nothing to do with maths. It's convention. In pretty much every academic marking protocol I've ever been acquainted with, 50/100 is a fail, not average. Convention determines how the scores are distributed, and in the case of back-from-the-game, I'd have to agree that convention dictates that 6/10 is mediocre.

2nd pen- LOL'd at it when i saw it from the north east corner- but seeing it again from the TV camera, in line with the ref it looked a pen

defo went down easy, but fair play imo

decent ten minutes from the lad imo, i look forward to seeing him play some more

game was awful
roberts was great for an hour, karacan again superb, with some lovely drives forward
our passing wasnt up to it though, hopefully will do better when the new boys bed in more, & ledge and kebe get back
id quite like to see 5 in the middle with cwfka playing behind roberts

and maybe it was his poor game last week that made him look better- but i thought antonio was much much better this week, and looks to have improved with a bit of game time

2nd pen was a pen, no doubt in my mind after seeing
it live and now 3-4 times on TV

The lad can see the defender coming and turns/leans ever so slightly but the bloke coming him splatters him

Agree that Hunt's flick was great for the first pen. Does he get an assist?

Both times, both pens the keeper moves WAY early and the pen should be retaken
