One of those players who always made the game look easy. Always cultered and elegant. The only player I can think of in the same mould was Colin Bell. Added to that was starting to get Wales playing some really exciting football and the future looked really good for the National Team. I heard the news on BBCR5L at lunchtime and I was dumbstruck by the news. 42 years old? His life had only just begun. He will be sadly missed.

No, I meant about Gary Speed m8. There are certain individuals on here who mock the death of Matthew Harding, so I thought in equally bad taste they would mock the death of Gary Speed.

Read a rumor online that a tabloid newspaper was due to release a story concerning his sexuality - hence hanging himself

The breaking of the silence at the Liberty was a wonderful thing. It was spontaneous, touching and, most importantly, genuinely heartfelt.

Also heard a rumour that a newspaper had set up a sting on him and were planning on revealing it.

If the name of that paper ever gets revealed they're in an awful lot of trouble.

Being a cynic by nature, it's not often I blink in disbelief at the BBC Football page. However, I did just that today. Absolutely staggered by this.

Top player without question, seemed a nice solid bloke too. Wouldn't have guessed Gary Speed from any number of clues if I'd been told a an ex-footballer now manager had died. RIP.

British media in destroying someones life shocker. They need to be moderated heavily now. I and many other people have simply had enough.

Likewise I was pretty dumbstruck when I caught up with the news earlier. Heard 'Wales' and 'manager' and I was in enough disbelief saying to myself 'surely not Toshack'.
