Schards#2 As the club has no ambition beyond staying financially viable, would it be possible to have the latest bank statements and interim accounts shown on the scoreboard so that some people (fans of this approach rather than fans of what goes on on the pitch) have something to cheer?

Agree, and an open top bus parade at the end of the season with the Accountants gloriously holding up copies of the clubs account...Magic :D

Yes, here's hoping it's the ones who say we won't be spending a couple of million.

Gr8 idea. The pre-match video could comprise of the usual dramatic music with clips of Portsmouth fans crying, Peter Ridsdale with his head bowed, then cut to Stoke scoring at Wembley and Hajduk Split and cut to the message:

WE WILL NOT BE NEXT!

JM aint got no money. It's a sad situation for him and us. I just hope the fans don't turn against him, he doesn't deserve that.

I left at the end of the game a bit rapid

I could hear a lot of noise coming from within the ground...what was it?

I had already worked out that it wasn't the overjoyed Barnsley fans celebrating

CayeneMatt Having 5000 people singing 'spend some fukking money' at you can't be easy to take.

A good shout by the East stand i thought. We're not allowed to do that in Lower West.

why do people insist on believing its onky possible to have one ambition at any one time.

yes the most important one is the fanances, as without them we have nothing, but after that of course we have ambition, and of course our goal is success and promotion

leigertwood £800k (was the media assumption)
mills £150k (undisclosed, best guess)
gorkss £900k (undisclosed, media assumption)
bongani (loan) loans often cost a small transfer fee.

don't forget new improved contracts for mcanuff and cummings, and i think another.

that sure does look like a fair investment from the chairman so many like to criticise. and the manager hasn't ruled out another coming in before deadline, or if not a loan after the window closes.

some people need to get real.

If that's aimed at me then I'm happy to have my account deleted IF we spend £4m on ANY one player before the transfer window shuts.
I say again, the wallet isn't open that far.

Nonetheless, I can't imagine him doing a Ken Bates and callling us a bunch of morons. But i could be wrong.

No, he won't call anyone ' a bunch of morons' in public. You can bet that he, like many supporters will be thinking it and, maybe, even saying it in private.

"Spend some f**king money"

by Friday's Legacy » 26 Aug 2011 20:27

£800,000 - leigertwood
£900,000 - gorkss
£000,000 - j.mills
£650,000 - le fondre (pending)

= approx £2,350,000

+ signing on fee's
+ bongani loan fee

= pushing £3,000,000

happy now? or is this still not a good enough reinvestment for you?

note this is a greater level of summer spending than before we reached the premiership.

* i know leigerwood signed pre play-off final but he was bought early to ensure he was a reading player this season.
